This game does exactly as it should do: scare; and i admit to being really freaked out. I turned the sound on for the full experience and it was one i wont forget soon! The game starts with a story where an experiment has failed, and you are left alive. You are in an abandoned "place" (you're not meant to know where yet) and you must try to escape and also find the truth. The game consists of many mini puzzles you must complete, such as unlocking the box and finding objects and clues, but the most important is to stay alive! If you were asked to describe a game suitable for the Nintendo DS, there are lots of different things you could say - for example, a puzzle game would be very suitable, even a platformer, or a Brain-training title. It'd probably be a while before the words 'Survival Horror' came to your lips. It's a genre of game that has long been associated with other consoles, but however could a convincing Survival Horror title be created on the DS? Dementium greatly surprised me. Ever since playing Sega's "House of the Dead" in the arcade many years ago I have been hooked on zombie games. There is something enthralling about aimlessly shooting at 'the already dead' and it is not only good, harmless fun but also quite therapeutic. Whilst there are many dodgy zombie games available there are some real gems and the only way to find these is to experiment. Historically, experimentation with computer games has been expensive as you have had to buy them but with the increased popularity with rental games this barrier has now been removed.
