DK Jungle Climber (DS)
Advantages: very challenging
This donkey kong game is another edition in the nintendo donkey kong series, only this is the first one on DS. I got this a few weeks ago, and I am finding that like the original donkey kong (on the nintendo 64) once you get to a particular level or boss, you get stuck and ni matter how hard you try to get to the end or defeat the boss, you just can't do it!
Other than that, this is a very addictive game, that you wone be able to put down once you started. Unlike other games you can go on this one for a long time without getting that far so, it does last for a long time. For example, I bought this about three weeks ago, and I've only done 32%, which for me is pretty bad.
On each level there are a number of various stages which you have to complete, until you get to the boss, which increases in difficulty the further you go on (obviously). You don't automatically start with both donkey kong and diddy kong, but on about the thirs stage bit, you are introduced to diddy, and you are told what you can do with him.
There are basically the same kind of enemies that you will have to kill, to get little gems. These gems, when you get 100 of them, will allow you to fly to the end of the level, or to get any tricky bananas, or DK coins, that might have been virtually out of reach before. The enemies you have to fight are still the crocodiles, bumblebees and the rats.
At the beginning of the game, you will be given a tutorial by cranky kong, just telling you what the basic controls of th game are. Througout the first level you will be introduced to xananab, this is kind of like a talking banana that also gives you hints throughout the game. On some of the levels you have to give him a little object to progress to the next stage. Another charater is called funky kong. This monkey can give you a lift to a small island on each of the main islands which allows yout o get more bananas. The evil character king. k rool is the leader of the kremlings and is the sworn enemy of donkey kong. This is who you will have to beat in the majority of the bosses.
It also has mini games which you can unlock, as you progress through each of the levels. These mini games are where you have to either gtrab bananas, jump over rolling barrels, climb to the top of a cave in a fast time and also to grab as many oranges as possible. You are graded, from a D to a AAA.
Overall, this game is very good value for money. I only payed £13 for it on amazon, but that was in the marketplace, so it probably is a bit more, perhaos £15, as I said before, it would still be good value for money, as it lasts for ages, and gives you very difficult challenges.
