This review is for the Nintendo DS game, Dogz, developed by MTO and published by Ubisoft. This game involving you buying a dog and then taking care of it by walking and feeding it. This is a game which can either be played for entertainment value, or as a example game to a child of what having a real life dog would be like. You start by choosing the puppy that you want from a choice of eighteen different breeds, each with their own characteristics. You then get to bring the puppy home to look after it, feed it, play with it and you can also train the dog. There are lots of additional elements in the game which help to maintain an interest. I bought this game for my brother and he loves it. The idea of the game is that you go to a petshop and buy your dog, and then take him home with you. Here you have to look after him how you would a normal dog, this includes washing, feeding, walking and playing with him. What I thought was best about this game was the detail it goes into. For instance when walking your dog you actually have to plan out your route beforehand. You can also train your dog, and then enter them into competitions similar to those you would see on crufts.
