Advantages: Fun, addictive, simple yet effective gaming

Disadvantages: Could be a bit longer

Elite Beat Agents is a game for the Nintendo DS. Unfortunately I don't own one of these, but my little brother does, and he recommended Elite Beat Agents as a game I might enjoy. And I must say, he must know me well!

The basic premise for EBA is that you are a secret agent who needs to save those in need through the power of song. Each level has a number of songs you can choose from and each song has a small story attached, for instance Leonardo Da Vinci's need for the Mona Lisa to pose for him when she refuses, or a little girl who has lost her father and wants to get in contact with him. All quite random I'm sure you'll agree and to be honest, I never paid much attention to the stories. However, the idea is, the Elite Beat Agents must solve these problems through songs which increase in scale and importance until eventually, you must save the world. On the screen you have three agents ready to do dance routines at your request. When the music starts, circles appear on the screen each of which have a number in the middle and they move closer to the number. When the circle reaches the number, you hit it with the stylus and this is done in time to the music. It's fast paced and if you miss too many circles, you wear out and fail your assignment. Some songs are slower and easier but they do increase in speed and skill as the game continues.

It's a simple yet addictive game. However, I must say it really isn't long enough and can be easily completed in just a few hours which is unfortunate. The graphics aren't great, but it's a DS not an X Box or Wii so this is understandable. Well worth the money however for the sheer addictive and fun factor that it ensues. Perfect for a train journey - be it a medium length one!

Summary: Fun and easy to play, definately one for your DS
