Advantages: Engaging, fun, different

Disadvantages: Short, less interesting stories than the Japanese version

You control the Elite Beat Agents. These agents are in place to protect those in trouble but they're not just any agents, oh no, no guns, explosives etc. These agents will save people through the power of dance.

As the game begins you select people in different areas of the world to help. Once you have selected them a small bit of backstory will play and then the song will begin. Small circles appear on the screen with larger rings outside them gradually closing in. You need to tap the small circles as the rings line up with them, do it too earlier and you fail so your characters fall down and lose time from the bar at the top, do it too late and the same will happen. As the game continues the difficulty increases so instead of merely tapping a few circles spaced out, you will have to tap several in quick succession then follow moving spheres on specific paths.

I'm not a fan of the songs included on the game but I certainly enjoyed it. However I did find it rather easy and having played the Japanese version (Osu! Tatake! Oendan!) I do feel that the Japanese version is harder. If you're thinking that this game sounds cheesy, I'd still advise you to give it a try as I was thought the exact same thing when I heard about it.

I'd rate EBA as a 9/10. For me it wasn't as difficult as the Japanese version nor where the stories as enjoyable. The sound quality is very good which of course is important in a game relying so heavily on music and the game will certainly get you hooked in the first couple of minutes. There's also replay value as the game has more than one difficulty setting which makes up for its short length.

Summary: If you're looking for something a little silly to spend your hours on this is the game for you
