Advantages: Hours of gameplay!

Disadvantages: Quite repetitive

Have you spent endless hours playing Cooking Mama 1 & 2 trying to perfect your cuisine and aim for the full 100 points. I know I have. It's not a brilliant series of games but makes superb use of the stylus. Gardening Mama follows suit.

I eagerly awaited the release of this game from the creators of the popular DS and Wii game - Cooking Mama and Cooking Mama 2. One - because I enjoyed the Cooking Mama series and two - because gardening is one of my passions.

The layout of the game is the same as Cooking Mama, with around four or five different menus. The menus are easy to figure out without having to read the instruction manual.

The graphics are bright and basic and the music is not irritating.

You start off being able to plant only a couple of plants but once you have completed the cycle of plants it unlocks many more. Eventually you will end up with your original garden, a rose garden, vegetable patch and somewhere to grow your fruit.

It is very fun to play and can be addictive but at the same time hard to put down when your plants all need tending to at the same time!

I am probably a little older than the target audience and i'm sure a child would get more gameplay out of it. Overall it makes great use of the touch screen of the DS and any lovers of Cooking Mama will not be disappointed.

I award this game 3 stars out of 5 as some tasks are repetitive and this makes it lose some of it's playability.

Summary: A great addition for the Mama range!
