Advantages: The game has some pictures you can identify
Disadvantages: It has no use in terms of graphics, game play
Having recently been playing my Nintendo DS console I have been playing some older games and this latest was the biggest disappointment I have ever seen on the console.
The game is named Gardening Mamma and the idea is that you have to try and create a garden for your Mamma to appreciate and enjoy. If you have played Cooking Mamma then this game would be right up your street as the format is identical.
You begin with trying to understand how on earth you prepare this garden to plant a whole heap of various flowers ranging from Tulips and Daisies to items such as Apple trees.
You begin with one particular flower and you first have to practice on the game because if you do not then you will struggle. The practice mode lets you practice a number of steps to producing the best results.
Some flowers need about 5 steps and others need 6 or more. You begin sometimes by using seeds and sprinkling them all over a garden and then other steps involve you digging up the correct amount of soil to help the plants grow.
You will struggle throughout the process of practicing because not everything is explained that clearly. You have some information that is displayed before you begin a new task such as Scatter the seeds but it never tells you how to do is properly.
You are aiming to get a gold medal in every step of the process of planting the flowers and this is quite tricky and at the end you achieve a score for your flower making. If you get a good score you unlock a present and I have to say this is a weird part of the game.
Yes unlocking a gardening tool is pretty cool but how cool can is it when you have no idea what you have unlocked. The picture looks terrible and so small you cannot identity what it actually is you have unlocked.
Furthermore as you complete flowers you unlock new areas of this garden for you to visit and help create the new plants and make them grow. The idea of the game is good but everything else is kind of odd and a bit mysterious.
The game play is terrible from the first moment until the last it is poor. You have challenges to do when preparing the plants which is understandable but when you copy the moves you sometimes see the game offer you guidance.
The guidance might be a line to copy but on the screen nothing happens at all. How on earth can you complete a game when the tasks you are given and move you're told to do cannot help you at all?
Sometimes when you are trying a move you keep on following the guidance by moving your stylus across the screen in the direction they have provided and nothing happens. If you do not hurry up before the timer reaches the end you lose that particular round.
The graphics are not the best either. The girl you are playing a part off is hardly that well presented in the graphics and when it comes to creating the flowers and preparing them even the end results are poor. The only good part in terms of the graphics is the odd occasion you see a flower you can identify.
In terms of how good the game is this is not a suitable game for anyone. In my view the game has been rushed in terms of producing and editing and whoever said this game was worthy of being released was wrong.
It is without doubt the worst game I have ever played and price wise I saw this a few days ago for £12 which is just astonishing.
For kids in my view there are much better options for games out there which you can complete and enjoy more especially for the same price.
Summary: A poor game one of the worst for the Nintendo DS console
