A very different kind of game. (Hotel Dusk: Room 215 (DS))
Member Name: blackmaff
Advantages: Great characters and narratives. Disadvantages: Can be incredibly slow. Hotel Dusk is not a game for everyone. It can be slow moving at times, and in my circle of friends it has been either a loved or loathed game. The game is basically a detective story with you playing the lead character, based in a hotel, with you dealing with a varied cast of characters and their intertwining stories and relationships. The relationships are frequently intriguing, occasionally hilarious, and almost always believable. Although the game is a tad slow to start, once into the game it becomes an enjoyable story, with the main character Kyle Hyde a complex character and his trials and tribulations will keep a patient player glued to their DS. It's hard to write a review without spoiling the story, so it's fair to say anyone who loves a detective yarn and isn't bothered by the slow pace of the game will find plenty to love here. Recommended. Summary: Not for everyone. |
