Hotel Dusk: Room 215 review. (Hotel Dusk: Room 215 (DS))

Advantages: Engaging story, plenty of twists and turns Disadvantages: Can be too much like a book at times These sorts of games have dwindled since the late 90's when Lucasarts ruled the roost, Hotel Dusk hopes to rekindele the point/click/investigate genre. You play an ex-cop called Kyle Hyde trying to track down a missing friend. You find yourself at the aforementioned Hotel Dusk where over the course of a night, you find out more than you ever imagined. The characters are drawn very well, almost like comic book characters, which fits in with you having to hold the DS like a book. It is very interesting, with enough twists and turns to keep even a newbie at this type of game happy. If I were to say something bad about it, it can get rather text heavy, and some people might find this boring as they just want to get on with the story. Overall a very engaging story with likeable (and some unlikeable) characters, a definate buy for lovers of point and click adventures. Summary: Very good game making good use of the DS's unique controls |
