Advantages: great gameplay, involing storyline, depth of characters

Disadvantages: none

If your a fan of old detective movies you'll love this game. There's mystery all over this old hotel when an ex cop pulls off the highway looking for a place to stay. Trying to trace an old buddy that went missing seems straightforward enough, but not if you're checked in to Hotel Dusk. Plenty of unusual characters are staying here, not to mention the landlord, and the maid who seems to know alittle about everyone!!

The game focuses around Kyle Hyde's overnight stay at the hotel and it seems as though his missing friend may have been this way also. To tell you much more would deny you the fun of playing it, but rest assured this is a great game. There are plenty of puzzles for you to work out along the way and also stacks of sleuthing and sneaking around the hotel. Features like having a little notepad to jot down your clues as you go around are a nice touch and add authenticity to the games appeal.

This is quite an easy game to play with a few puzzles along the way that may leave you scratching your head a little bit but unlike some games there didn't seem to be any hidden levels to explore. This cost around the £20 mark when we bought it but that was some time ago so you'll probably be able to pick one up on e-bay for around a tenner. Most good games stores will still stock this as it became quite popular.

My wife and i played this game individually, but at the same time, if you know what i mean, not giving clues to each other. I remember one puzzle that an old lady gives you in the hotel bar where you where you can only move one coin, it took me ages to get that one, yet my wife got it really quickly. Maybe she's a genius. Or maybe i'm just thick!!!

You really should check this game out though, it's worth every penny.
What is the landlords' secret? Why is the maid so nosey? Who's the old lady waiting for? And who is the girl who never speaks? Only one way to find out.

Check in!!!!

Summary: a great game that all amateur sleuths will enjoy!
