Advantages: Very easy to play, no complicated technique required

Disadvantages: Very very very frustrting when you get to the last move and run out of time

Jewel Quest is incredibly basic and very very addictive. Simply swap the position of two adjacent jewels to make 3 or more in a row. The longer your row the more points you get and crucially, in the early stages of the game, every position on the board thats occupied with the jewels in your row turns gold. The object of the game is to turn the whole board gold before you run out of time.

Nothings ever that simple though. You also have the opportunity to earn a magic move which enables you to turn any one square gold by collecting a row of three gold coins unfortunately there are also random skulls which if grouped in threes revert their squares back to their none gold status. To add to this as you join jewels into threes they disappear from the board to be replaced by the items occupying the spaces above them which then drop down into position.

As you get more adept at playing the game the games becomes more and more challenging. Jewels are hidden and can only be unlocked by placing two identical adjacent jewels next to them. The boards become obscure shapes making it incredibly difficult to reach all the jewels in time which seems to leave you needing just one more gold square as the time runs out and most frustratingly you also need to turn the squares silver before turning them gold.

The storyline to the whole Jewel Quest Expedition is totally irrelevant to the game but that doesn't stop it being tons and tons of fun.

Summary: Quite possibly the most fun you can have in five minutes with your clothes on.
