Heavy metal sound track introduces this monster truck racing/crushing/crashing follow up to monster jam.
Play in championship mode, instant action or multiplayer.Choosing world series gives you four more options I chose world series were you travel to various destinations completing in freestyle, racing and special events basically a mix of everything, choose your truck from eight available including classics such as Maximum Overdrive and Blue Thunder.
I have played sing various trucks and can find no real difference in performance that is noticeable.Controls are direction pad for left and right and up and down to control your forward or reverse axis while getting air.A button is the accelarator,B reverse and right shoulder button for turbo which enables you to get bigger air and cause more destruction. In freestyle arenas you endo, smash, crush, sky wheelie, donut over ramps buses and basically anything in your way to try and cause maximum destruction to score the most points to progress to the next city.It is proper fun and you can link stunts together to create monster spectacle points which enable you to unlock various content.
SOUNDS AND GRAPHICS:
Great hard heavy metal soundtrack and arena commentary on your performance reminds me of wrestling games!! graphics are great with 3D rendering used to make the trucks look realistic, DS is never going to be awesome graphics wise with games like this but it is a good effort and only when the action gets a little too frantic do the graphics suffer.
I like this game a lot it is not the best game I have played on the DS but for a racing crashing smashing game I really can think of no other that fits the bill as with lots of DS games most of the tracks are repeated and does get a bit repetitive but changing trucks etc soon makes you forget about that, enjoyable not sure if it is worth £24.99 but as it is a new game then that is the price you are going to pay.
Would swap me old Vauxhall Zafira for a monster truck and go down Tesco's, maximum destruction!!!!
