I have never played a Ninja Gaiden game before, however I have heard from reliable sources that they are typically fairly hardcore button-mashing hack'n'slash games. As such I was surprised when I got hold of 'Dragon Sword' on the DS, more out of curiosity than anything else. The first surprise was that I had to turn my DS sideways, like a book. An approach seen in games such as Brain Training and adventure game Hotel Dusk, I was immediately off-guard as I was anticipating fast button-mashing action. How could this work? Introduction: ~~~~~~~~~~ I accidently came across the Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword after many hours of trying to find a decent Hack and slash NDS game. This is THE best Hack and Slash game out for the NDS. Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword provides plenty of satisfying slashing with the DS pen. In this very addicting game you slash through the stages collecting Karma points for every monster you kill, this can be very addicting because as you get more Karma points this strange old man will sell you Different Power-ups and Special moves. Ninja Gaiden has a long and storied history -- much of it involves punishing combat and infuriatingly difficult boss fights. I've missed out on all that, however, and instead the DS iteration of the Ninja Gaiden franchise, subtitles Dragon Sword, is my introduction to the series. I wasn't sure what to expect going in, but having beaten the game and seen all that this awesome game has to offer, I'm now on the hunt for ways to play more Ninja Gaiden. The premise of the game is quite simple: you play as legendary ninja Ryu Hayabusa (and occasionally Momiji, a female ninja of the same clan).
