I've always enjoyed doing logic puzzles, and when the Logic Problems magazines started doing picross puzzles, or tsunami puzzles, as they were called then, I loved them too. So when I found out about this game, I really wanted it. But back then I didn't have a DS to play it on! I resisted for a while, but after reading about some other cool games I gave in and bought a DS - right when they were becoming impossible to buy in the shops! But with some determination I managed to get one on ebay, and I bought Picross DS to play on it. I can honestly say I am addicted - I spend way too long playing it and even dream about Picrossing sometimes! The basic idea is so ... Read the complete review

The DS has always seemed to be well suited for puzzle games - its portability and stylus touch screen interface make it almost like a mini plastic puzzle book. It's this suitability that's responsible for a deluge of puzzle games that have appeared on the DS since it was first released. In my opinion, Picross is definitely one of the most noteable. At first, the concept seems dull. You are confronted with a grid, and for each row and column you are given a breakdown of how many squares on that row are filled in. It's a little bit like Sudoko, but with pixel-images. When you've completed a stage, you're rewarded with a pixel image. The ... Read the complete review

Picross is an addictive puzzle game which is in a similar vein to games such as Brain Training. You fill in block on a grid based on numbers on the side of the grid to create a picture. There are several modes of this game, the main one being 'Picross'. Within this mode there are three different modes, Easy, Normal and Free. Within each mode there are many different picross grids in different levels of difficulty. In the easy and normal modes the game tells you if you've done something wrong, in the free mode you're left all alone! There is also a 'Daily Picross' mode where you can do different puzzles each day against a timer, and try to beat your ... Read the complete review

Saw a review of this yesterday and then had a cinversation with a friend and she had a copy so I thought I would give it a go and then write the review so here it is. This is a very quick and easy game to grasp right from the off. The game initially starts up with a tutorial and takes you through a simple game. Right so how do you play. This game is based on logic the tutorial starts with a five by five grid. Along each axis is a number or series of numbers. These numbers represent a coloured block - similar to the black squares in a crossword. If there is a five on the side then this means there are five squares to be coloured in on that ... A new concept and a fun challenge, I really enjoy this game and the daily challenges. Graphics: 5/10 This game was not built with graphics in mind - but then you dont play it for the graphics. The whole point of the game is to fill in the correct boxes to create a picture and reveal the hidden image - the boxes are just the right size to make out what the pictures are without frustrating them too much by spending too much time filling in boxes so I would say this is a good balance. Gameplay/Controls: 10/10 The controls are very logical and easy to use, there is a good mix of use of the buttons and the stylus and the accuracy is about 98%. There ... Read the complete review
