Professor Layton and the Curious Village sees the gentlemanly scholar and his young assistant Luke arrive at St. Mystere, an obscure village that hides many secrets and mysteries. The puzzling begins before Layton and Luke even reach the mysterious village, and sets the tone for the rest of the game. In a nutshell, Layton and ... Read the complete review

The Box The box has the usual white strip along the edge letting you know it is a DS game. The front of the box is quite dark in colour and has a hat in the centre showing the village. Along either side of the hat there are 3 ovals showing pictures of the puzzles. It also lets us know it's for age 7+. On the back the following is ... Read the complete review

I got a Nintendo DS for Christmas last year and to be honest I haven't played it that much. I originally got Brain Training which I used consistently for a while, then it started to lapse and the DS got put away for a long time. Until I discovered Professor Layton and the Curious Village. I had never heard of this game until ... Read the complete review

I bought this after seeing all the commercials for Professor Layton and Pandora's Box on TV - I wanted to try the first game at a discounted price before paying full price for the new game. Now I can't wait to get my hands on Pandora's Box! I am not a big gamer - I bought my DS last Christmas to play Brain Training, and was only interested in ... Read the complete review

Professer Layton and the Curious Village was a game a really enjoyed! It was originally bought for my son when it first came out and I played it a lot more than he did. It cost around £30ish but as all of us wanted it I didn't mind paying out. There are 2 main characters to the game who are Professor Layton and his assistant ... Read the complete review

This is one of the best games on the DS. Basically it's a puzzle game, but with a really good plot and some cute animation sequences. The name says it all really, professor Layton and his sidekick Luke go to a village and solve puzzles while trying to solve the mystery of the village. The puzzles start off easy and slowly get harder, some are ... Read the complete review

Ten months after the rest of the world discovered they couldn't get their hands on this in time for Christmas and the prices rocketed to ridiculous levels thanks to E-bay I finally came across this for 50p at a local fundraiser. I doubt the rest of you will be that lucky so expect to pay around £10 second hand from a variety of sources including ... Read the complete review

Welcome to the wonderful world of Professor Layton. The best game I have bought for my DS. But be warned; once you first play this game you will never want to turn your DS off..!! The point of the game is to walk through the 'Curious Village' clicking on all the different people you meet, and entering shops you pass, and solve a series ... Read the complete review

This game is fantastic. Buy it, buy it, buy it. I have never had such an entertaining game for my DSLite, not only entertaining and impossible to put down but interesting and challenging as well. The puzzles and brain teasers on this game are really good, and the story itself is fantastic, there are loads of movie ... Read the complete review

This first game in the Layton Series sees Layton and his protégé Luke is set in the mysterious village of St Mystere, where nothing is quite as it seems. Sent here to find the treasure of the Golden Apple, there are many more mysteries to unravel before embarking on the search for the treasure. St Mystere itself is a prettily drawn ... I brought Professor Layton and the Curious Village around Christmas time for £19.99 after having all the Dr Kawashima brain training type of games I thought the puzzles might be more fun. How right I was. When you first turn the game on in your DS you go straight to the title screen. At the title screen you have three options new game, ... Read the complete review

This game is by far my favourite game on the DS. I was bought it for my birthday & would say that it took less than 20hrs to complete but it was well worth the money. I have all the brain training-esque games and found this, though still puzzle based, surprisingly refreshing. It allows you to follow a mystery story & to complete puzzles in ... I bought this game after seeing on the advert! only so i could complete the pig problem as it looked hard, proved to be one of the easier puzzles! The game is a little annoying at the beginning trying to get into it with all the talking and explaining but once that is over you can find the puzzles and try to solve them it is FANTASTIC! i would recomend this game to anyone.

I first heard about this game from a friend a few days before I bought my DS. She said that she would lend it me but it sounded that good that I bought it before I had chance to see her. I wish I hadn't bothered. Don't get me wrong, it is a great game, but there is not much to it. It only took a few hours to complete so I might as ... Read the complete review

Finally! A game for the DS that is absorbing and engaging for all ages. As a long term PC adventure gamer, when I first received my DS Lite I searched for games that were exciting enough to be worth buying and investing my time in. After a series of disappointing, and frankly shallow games, I finally borrowed Professor Layton and Curious Village ... Read the complete review

Having seen this advertised on TV I wanted it straight away! It was brought for me as a present and is a good game to play. It's quite slow to start and there is a lot of story that you have to read. The puzzles are good with a range of difficulties - each providing you with a number of points. There are 3 clues which you can access for each ... Read the complete review

When I saw Professor Layton and the Curious Village advertised all over the tv, I knew it was a game I had to have. I went on a real mission to find it, as everwhere was sold out, until at last I found the last copy on the shelf at one of my local supermarkets wooo! On the advice of a friend I decided to buy myself Professor Layton and the Curious Village, not really knowing what to expect except that it contained lots of puzzles. (Actually that is a slight complaint I have of the majority of the DS games - the packaging gives you very little idea what the game involves.) On turning on the game ... Read the complete review

Well, I bought this game a couple of months ago and I am hooked, originally bought for my two children who both loved it!
