I was browsing the amazing (well OK not quite) Woolworths sale the other day and managed to pick up a few Nintendo DS games. I have wanted Super Mario Bros for months now and when I saw it for only £15 I had to get it.

I put the game in and switched on my DS, the screen appeared. It started off with a short story about how Princess Peach has been captured and the game is based around trying to save her.

After the first few 'lands' I was hooked. There are 8 worlds altogether and I have managed to complete the game. I am however struggling to unlock two worlds. Although I have saved princes peach I am annoyed that I cannot unlock the other two worlds.

The game is addictive and therefore highly playable. The graphics are great and very clear they make the game a lot easier to play. I have found the tunes quite boring after a while and get very annoying but they are different for each land and world making them quite varied. If like me though you get stuck on the same game for hours it can be fairly annoying. The sound effects are also great and add to the overall game enjoyment.

As well as the platform based game there are selection of mini games, some involving the stylus and others involving the blow hole. These are also quite addictive but not as good as the actual game. I do actually think the game is great value for money I have easily had over 20 hours playtime on it and still not bored. It's also the sort of game you can play over and over again a great buy.

It didn't take too long to get used to the controls and the aim of the game making this an excellent game for kids and adults alike. Although frustrating it kept me quiet for a few days something my girlfriend appreciated. If you stuck for gift ideas for Christmas or a birthday this could be perfect for you.
