A new take on a classic game (Tetris (DS))

Advantages: Features the original style game, as well as new modes. Easy to play. Addictive.

Disadvantages: May be boring for people who do not like puzzle games, or don't like the original Tetris

Everyone knows Tetris. And if they don't, then they should! It was created in 1985 making the game 23 years old, and is still a firm favourite all over the world today. Tetris DS features six different game modes; Standard mode - which is basically traditional Tetris; Push mode - a two player (opponent or CPU) game where the aim is to 'push' the opponent over the 'danger line'; Puzzle mode - the top screen shows you a few lines of Teris pieces with gaps you need to fill with pieces on the bottom screen. You need to fit the right pieces, the right way round in the right order to clear the screen; Mission mode - you are given a goal to achieve on the top screen. This can be played either by yourself or against an opponent; Catch mode - you start with a block in the centre of the screen and have to catch falling Tetris pieces; Touch mode - you use the stylus to move and turn pieces to clear as many lines as possible, and drop a crate to the floor and release balloons.

This game is fantastic for multiplayer as you only need one game card to play wirelessly against a friend, unlike some other DS games. It's easy to just pick up and play for a short time or to play for an hour as it is so addictive.

This game is well worth picking up as it is so cheap and such fun to play. Highly recommended.

Summary: Cheap and great fun for the whole family.
