Advantages: Innovative interactive fun

Disadvantages: Tedious at times

The phantom hourglass sees the Zelda franchise return the cartoon format of Link first seen in The Wind Waker (The rather unsuccessful attempt on the Gamecube to produce something of the Ocarina of time Magnitude.) once again the game is also set on the sea with a long of travelling between islands by boat.

While this format does not come close to comparing to the legend that is the Ocarina of Time or fast becoming legend of the Twilight Princess; this outing on the DS is definitely an improvement on the Wind Waker, The cartoon graphics actually look at home on the DS and whilst the touchscreen play can take a little while to get used to, it's innovative use adds to the fun.

The game follows the tried & tested routine of Zelda involving lots of travelling across lands to explore dungeons and solve puzzles and offers the usual hours and hours of gameplay; the game is good fun but becomes a little tedious with all the travelling by boat across the seas just as the Wind Waker did.

Summary: Good but don't expect a Legend.
