Typical Zelda - Brilliant! (The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (DS))

Advantages: The gameplay Disadvantages: None I have been a big fan of Zelda since it was first released on Nintendo, so I was very excited to play this game - and I was not disappointed at all. It is everything you come to expect of a Zelda game but with the benefit of being able to play it anywhere! There is not too much story telling which I like as I'd rather be playing the game! It is taxing and not too easy so I don't think the player would get bored. It is easy to navigate the character and is very easy to use. It uses a lot of the DS's unique features, such as the touch screen to move around and the microphone for speaking and blowing into - I find the use of the microphone a bit "for show" and a bit unnecessary but doesn't ditract from the great game play. I was concerned that it wouldn't be the sort of game that you could pick up and play for 10minutes on a bus journey and was more a sit-down-for-2-hours type of game - I have found that it is easy to pick up for ten minutes and the game can be saved at any time, not just at save points, but if you are in a castle be warned - if you save the game and turn off, you will resume outside the castle! Argh! I really enjoy this game and would definately recommend it to anyone who has or hasn't played Zelda before. The game play is great! Summary: Highly recommended to all |
