This game started off quite promisingly but in the end it was rather disappointing as it has a few glitches in it that are frustrating not least the tendency for the game to occasionally freeze up which is really annoying when it does happen.
In the game you are signed up to represent Tony Hawkes downhill racing team and you are set a number of goals to complete in order to access other levels of the game. In addition there is the ability just to free skate the different levels or you can opt to enter a race off against other boarders.
The controls work well as visually the game is great, some of the trick moves are easy to master as are the goals to achieve however at the other extreme some are absurdly difficult which is another reason why I found the game quite frustrating to play.
It does have an online gameplay option which I have not sampled however I understand from others that it is not very good and it takes ages to set up play against other people hence the reason why I have not bothered with it.
The dual screen view of the DS is used so that the bottom screen provides a map to plan your route and this is a good feature, you can also use the pad to set up and execute special moves rather than using the traditional button combo although this option still exists.
Overall this game is distinctly average and the couple of bugs in it which saw mine freeze a couple of times is annoying, still worth checking out but youmay want to try before you buy.
