... how good it was. I finally decided to buy it. The next day I was off in game at the checkout. The woman on the till said she loved the game just as much as there kids did. I bought the game home and inserted it in to my ds. Oh yh, the game itself was really good. Especially the graphics. It was expectedly good compared to other ds games. The story line went extremely well to my satisfaction. I bought it again for my nephew and he loved it just as much. I totally would recommend this game to anyone who loves as much adv...more

For those of you who aren’t fully conversant with the stars of classic video games, Yoshi is a little green dinosaur who eats things. Lots of things. Pretty much anything that gets in his way really. It's a fairly useful skill, given only that as you guide him around one of his various adventures, lots of things get in his way that need eating. And that, in a nutshell, is the basis of pretty much every Yoshi game. Yoshi's Island for the DS is no exception. This time round, a strange floating castle has appeared in the sky above Yoshi's otherwise peaceful little island and shortly after it appears, a number of children from the island's school are kidnapped. ...  Read the complete review

When Buying a Game I look for a few things... Length of Game Play Quality of Gameplay Concept of the Game Multiplayer. Length of Gameplay Although it did take me a few months to complete, I may have completed it faster had I not become bored after an hour of play. I picked it up on a number of occasions, had a little play and then got bored and left it. Not the most addictive of games... But this helps in a way as you can keep coming back without ever missing anything. You won't forget how to play or what you are doing after not playing it for a couple of months and for me thats important as I do get bored easily and start ...  Read the complete review

This is a super little platform game which is a lot of fun to play and features one of my favourite gaming characters Yoshi. The lttle dragon who gets to swallow his enemies and turn them into eggs which he can then fire at enemies or use they to reveal short cuts or collect stars. When Baby Luigi is kidnapped the objective of the game is to rescue him from a mysterious floating castle by completing a number of levels as you progress through particular challenges. Once again the evil Kamek is behind the plot. This is not the easiest of games to play and although it would appear like it is suitable for younger players it is in fact quite difficult ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Same Old Fun (225 words)

Yoshi's Island for the Nintendo DS, is a simple, kiddy yet, fun experience. Full of color and sound almost mimicking the original Yoshi's Island only added with a few new features (such as switching babies). Original fans and lovers will not be disappointed with this game although is does get very samey. There isn't very much variation in gameplay, however the gameplay that is pre-existing does not last long enough keep one entertained longer than a few hours. It is, unfortunately, again - easy, characters and bosses can be beaten without having to apply much effort. For people who never played the original, will find this game either very childish and stupid ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Yoshi's Island (DS): Not as good as the GBA version (154 words)

After owning Yoshi's Island on GBA for a few months previous to buying it on the DS, i was really looking forward to all the extras that the DS format could offer. Although still a good game for the kids i was quite disappointed with it. For a start there are none of the useful prizes you could use on the GBA version - such as the magnifying glass to show where the red coins are located or the 10+ or 20+ stars option to help complete the levels fully. I can't help thinking that they could have done a lot more with this game, and the price is way too much for the content and playability compared to games like Spiro, Super Mario Bros etc. The length of time it takes to ...  Read the complete review

The fishing and bug catching are fun Frustratingly limited at times

Good value for money, Good long term playability, plenty of variety in game modes Games can be a little confusing, average graphics and awful sound, couple of duff titles

Nice art work, good gameplay, good multiplayer, adjustable difficulty. Too short, soundtrack is a little too poppy.

A deep and atmospheric game Possibly a bit wordy and linear in gameplay

Fun interactive graph to chart progress for up to 4 people, sudoku, challenging others. Some aspects can be repetitive and tedious, limited with what you can challenge other DS users

Sticks to the same structure, making it as good as previous titles. Pointless touchscreen uses, could have been used better
