Swallow those coins (Yoshi's Island (DS))
Member Name: badvok
Advantages: very colourful & addictive Disadvantages: Bit like the original I am a huge fan of the first Yoshi's island, which I have had the pleasure of playing on the snes and the gba, I bought a ds just to play this and New Super Mario Bros. This game is amazing, I love the feel of it. The storyline is a bit pointless but I don't really care. It's perhaps the best out of the super mario series in 2d. Both screens are used simultaneously to show tall sections of each level. Unfortunately there is a blind spot between the screens where enemies can lurk in waiting and valuable flowers or coins can be missed. The levels are generally pretty huge and the emphasis is more on exploration to find flowers, red coins and the new big character coins than just getting to the goal. You don't use the sylus at all, but that makes the game more like the original. If you like New Super Mario Bros then this one is for you. My 7 year old son can't enough of it. Summary: worthwhile purchase |
