The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii): ... The Ocarina of Time, but longer and with better graphics. The only reason this game won t go down in history as one of the best ever in the same way is that Ocarina was the first. This game has the added dimension of nostalgia, as there are several subtle references to the previous game. Gameplay is the classic Zelda formula. Explore a vast (epic would be a better word) landscape, working your way through dung...

philrockz Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
... ve only just realised that there are way more reviews of video games than there are of books and CD s. There must be the subject of a sociological treatise there somewhere. So for what it s worth, this game is annoyingly addictive. You know, you get just so far, get beat, try again, get beat, try again, get a bit further, get beat, try again...and before you know it two hours have passed and your right arm aches horribly (and I m NOT reading FHM either!) The graphics are great, the controls superb, the puzzles deceptively easy, then mind numbingly difficult in turn. This game is great! My only complaint would be the common one of 3d games where the camera angle/poor pe...

philrockz Wario Ware: Smooth Moves (Wii)
... is a great, if bizarre game, it really is a lot of fun. You use the Wii remote in ways you probably would never have imagined (on your nose like a trunk, like a pencil to draw, on your hip to hula etc) to complete mini games. At first the game is single player only. There is cartoon based story line, and each level has its own weird and wonderful mini story and animation. Each level contains around 10 to 20 mini games, each of which lasts about 5 seconds. There is then a `boss stage game, which is slightly harder and longer (fighting a samurai, completing a dance routine etc.) you must pass to complete the level. The single player mode is fun, and is also a great wa...

nathaninnit Mario Kart (Wii)
... Whilst it may not quite be immersing yourself into the world of the latest Legend Of Zelda, there is certainly something that about the churning out of a new Mario Kart title on every new Nintendo console that gets me all warm and fuzzy inside. Probably not quite the counting the hours anticipation that comes with those huge killer app titles though. With the original MK title being released on the SNES, we saw Mario getting pawned off for one of his first sporting outfits in a go-kart. The title garnered aload of popularity and to this date is still regarded by many as the best of all the name-sake games to follow it. I find it hard to deny that my favourite woul...
