... am a big fan of the darts and recently enjoyed the a trip to the Alexandra Place. I was therefore keen to get my hand on this and recreate some of the action. My first dissapointment was that my favourite darts player Yelle Klassen was not featured in the game. I therefore had to settle to play as Phil Taylor. You can creat your own player i.e to look like you or another erson however this features is limited and try as I may I could not recreate Yelle. The second dissapointment was trying to throw a dart with the Wii controller. It was almost impossible and was basically hit or miss. PDC World Championship Darts 2008 is, to my knowledge, the only game that tries to recreate the game of darts on a games console (although I do not know why when all you got to do is buy a dart board and darts). The game itself depicts real sports men from the PDC championship (Phil Taylor, Raymond Van Barnaveld, et al); in an almost realistic recreation but some do not have any basis in reality to their real life counterparts. The game modes can be divided into a single player championship mode, a multiplayer mode and a training mode which can be played by either single or multiplayer. ... m a big fan of the PDC and regularly watch the likes of Phil The Power Taylor and Ramon Van Barneveld throwing the arrows on Sky Sports. I don t have room for a dart board in my house, but I was very excited to see that this game was in development. And so with some great expectations I made the trip to Asda to buy PDC Darts 2008 on the Wii on it s release date last year. Getting home we fired up the Wii and inserted the game only to be totally and utterly disappointed. The graphics (for the Wii) and variety of games on offer are relatively impressive, as is the number of professional darts players on offer. The controls are a massive let-down though.
