Advantages: You can go to the city!

Disadvantages: It's a bit too similar to previous versions of the game.

If you've played Animal crossing on the DS or the Gamecube before, then you'll know what to do. Do a few jobs for Tom Nook to get yourself acquainted with your new town, start earning money, pay off your mortgage, get an extension and repeat...until you're left with a basement!

Obviously there are other things to do in AC, but again they're terribly similar to the previous game versions. Eg; Museum etc.

What is exciting however, is the new bit-the trip to the city! Unfortunately you have to talk to the highly annoying Capn' before you get there! At first it's brilliant-there's different animals everywhere and the chance to bump into the balloon seller or resetti for the silver spade. However when you've done it once, you soon realise that there still isn't actually that much to do.

I sort of feel that the makers of the game have been a bit lazy, relying on hype and previous fans, rather than making any mind blowing adjustments to the game.

I'm 25 and really enjoy it still because I like doing things at my own pace and love the fact that the competitive element doesn't exist.

However, It would have been fun to have a bar open in the city late at night for older users (OK they would have to figure out some age limit by putting your birthday in, or made younger users order nothing but mocktails!).

Little things could have also been adjusted to make the game more interesting. Eg: a wider variety of tools. I also think that some reward should come when you complete your collections of fish and dinosaurs in the museum. Let's face it, when you catch something like a stringfish that's worth 25,000 are you going to give it in at the museum or sell it to Tom Nook and pocket the instant fortune?! I know what i'd do!

I must admit though, i'm looking forward to earning enough bells to donate to the town fund so I can have a windmill and a fountain in my town.

On the whole, I must admit I still love this game because it's so flipping addictive, BUT a bit more effort and a few more surprises would have been nice!

Summary: Live in your own little world, shaking trees, fishing etc to earn a living!
