Advantages: Can play at being Ben 10 fighting aliens
Disadvantages: It's too old for my 5 year old to play on his own.
I have written a couple of reviews on Ben 10 items because as I have said before my boys are obsessed with it. We have a house full of Ben 10 things and this wii game is the lastest addition. It was my eldest son's 5th birthday recently and he actually got both Ben 10 wii games, one is Ben 10 Protector of the Earth and the one I am reviewing is Ben 10 Alien Force. This is the one they prefer to play on, so expect another review when they get round to playing on the other.
We have had a wii console for about a year now and all of the family just love it. I think it is a great concept turning playing computer games into physical activity. My boys are only 3 and 5 but love to play on wii sports, so I expected them to like this game featuring there favourite TV character.
The game cost £17.99 from Tesco but I think that was on special offer with £3 off the retail price. It features Ben, Gwen and Kevin from the Alien Force series and throughout the game at different stages you will be all of these characters.
You need to use your wii remote and the nunchunk for this game, the remote is what you use to fight and the nunchunk is for direction. This is where the problem lies for us, my boys find it impossible to manage both at the same time, so my husband will use the nunchunk and let the boys take it in turns for fighting. I suppose it is too old for them to play on their own but they love doing the fighting and with the help of my husband are making their way through the levels. I tend not to play on it as I am rubbish at 'boys' games.
It really is just a fighting game, turning into different aliens and fighting the baddies, at the end of each level there is always a big monster to fight. The fun thing is though when you begin you have only got one alien, Big Chill, and as you complete each level there is another alien you can change into, my boys love it when they get a new alien.
The only complaint they have with this game is that if you don't complete a level in one session then it always starts back at the beginning but all games are like this.
A great game that keeps my boys entertained even if they are too young, what boy doesn't want to play being his favourite superhero.
Summary: Good game if you're a boy who loves Ben 10
