I love this game, although the games on face value seem quite trivial and easy, they aren't, this is quite deceptive. As the questions are graded on difficulty level the easy ones are good for warming up the harder ones are tri...more

Premium Review Big Brain Academy - Wii Degree (Wii): Work your brain for a wierd blob teacher thing... (265 words)
by - written on 28/05/09 (Very useful, 6 readings)
Rating:

I got this game months ago, and i still play it rather regularly, but too often. When you start the game, you have to do some tests to see how good you are. The tasks you have to complete are easy to pick up, but if you didnt read how to play them, you could fail rather miserably, as they are not that self explanitory. After the test you get a score, like C+. You can then practice which earnn you medals, and once you have a gold medal on all difficulty settings (Easy, Medium and Hard), it unlocks an Expert difficulty; providing an incentive to play more often. You can test as often as you like to increase your score, getting into the A's ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Build up your brain weight (286 words)

Rating:

The game is a follow on from the Big Brain academy for the DS. This is the adaptation for the Wii where you can test your 'brain weight' through several tests and mini games. Your brain power is calculated by the difficulty of the task and the time taken to complete the question correctly. There are five types of questions/problems that you will encounter: 'Identify' which are visual based picture questions 'Memorise' which tests your memory 'Analyse' - for reason/logic type questions 'Compute' testing your mathematical ability 'Visualise' looking at 'magic eye' style picture problems The games can be played in solo mode or ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Big Brain Academy - Wii Degree (Wii): one for the kids (222 words)
by - written on 31/07/08 (Very useful, 34 readings)
Rating:

When I bought my Wii I was umming and ahhing over getting a DS instead. I wanted Brain Training, you see. In the end I plumped for the Wii because of this game. One is much the same as any other, right? Wrong. This is NOT brain training. You are given brain weight rather than a brain age, and the games are initially fun but quickly become repetitive. They are too-easily mastered and from there on in it's just a matter of zooming through without feeling that you've really achieved anything at all. I suspect that this is a great game for kids, but for adults it is just too sugary. You have to 'join' the academy, sit through pages of comments from your ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Fun for everyone (287 words)

Rating:

We bought the Big Brain Academy with the Wii console as part of a package and can honestly say we was not disappointed with it , infact I blame this game for triggering our Wii obsession ! The idea of the Big Brain Academy is to play lots of mini games that are disigned to test and improve your mental agility. All the games have at least 3 difficulty levels which is good as it means everyone over 3 years can have a go at this game and have loads of fun with it. There are 5 'brain-bending categories' to test your mental agility with , that contains 3 activities each. The categories are; IDENTIFY , VISUALISE , COMPUTE , ANALYSE & MEMORISE . We ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Big Brain Academy - Wii Degree (Wii): Back to School (226 words)

Flex your brain and have fun at the same time. This little number is created by Nintendo and can I say is really good. You have to solve problems and test your brain power against all of your smart family and friends. The game has five categories to test you (Identify, Visualise, Compute, Analyse, Memorise.) The categories also have three difficulties which doesn't help making you look smarter, not only that the game also gives you a brain rating and score, which you can compare with all of the Mii's that are on the Wii system and have played the game. Not only does the game test you but you have the chance to have mini tournaments with the family with three extra ...  Read the complete review
