      Very helpful

An interactive game with a simple concept but great fun to play! :o)

I bought this for a friend at Christmas and thought I'd write a quick review as we all had a good time playing it. It's one of those games that you can just enjoy for the sake of having fun with a few other people, with little required in the way of skill or mastery of controls.

Boom Blox Bash Party has quite a lively design on the front of the box, and it looked quite cartoon-like and aimed at younger gamers. I was a bit sceptical at first, but having read some reasonably good reviews for it, I thought it would be perfect for a little party get-together. I'm glad I bought it as everyone seemed to enjoy it.

It's suitable for ages 3+, and I think, because there are various games on here all following the same principles, some are easier for the younger gamers. I wouldn't put an upper age limit on it though, so I'm sure there will be teens, 30 somethings and grannies who would enjoy playing this!

This game has more than 400 new levels, and although it's not really a game you can 'complete', it has the sense of development without being a game that ends up covering dust when finished. The idea is that you select yourself a character, and use the wii remote to throw/bash/destroy other opponents or items on the screen. It's more fun that it sounds, honestly.

There are plenty of different characters to choose from, as well as different environments to play it, new shapes/boxes/tools to use and rewards to gain as you complete levels. It's very colourful, vibrant and energetic, so you may burn a few calories whilst also taking out your anger on the boxes as you destroy them!

We played for fun so we didn't bother with getting through any levels; with 4 controllers, 4 of us played sometimes at the same time, sometimes one after the other. It was very interactive and simple to select characters and game modes.

I was impressed by how simple it was to play most of the games. Sometimes the Wii can be quite irritating because you have to get to grips with the controls and sensitivity of them, but with just one or two buttons, and some arm movement, you're away!

There is also the ability to connect online to download new levels or design your own, so again, this game is developmental, fresh and should definitely keep you going for a while.

The only downside was perhaps a couple of the games which seemed to be overly complicated when the 4 of us played simultaneously. I can't really complain about this, however, because there were many other games to choose from that it didn't really matter.

For example, one game is set on pirate ships. Each character has a ship with booty (in the form of boxes), all of which correspond to your characters colour. The aim of the game was to ignite the cannon in front of you, aim at your opponents, and destroy all of their cargo. It was very satisfying to see the explosions, boxes flying everywhere, and knocking your friends into the water!

All in all, this is a colourful and fun game, suitable for all ages & tastes. It's better as a party game admittedly, so it's good for creating some laughs and bringing everyone together (or creating rivalry as is most likely the case).

Would definitely recommend for something that you can pick up and play as and when you want, that's fun and is a good price online.

RRP £29.99 but selling on Amazon for £12.68
