Disney Sing it: Family Hits is a karaoke game that was released in October 2010, just in time for the kids to add it to their Christmas lists. On this game you sing songs that have been released by Disney in their films. Like almost every other child in this generation, I grew up watching Disney Films and love the soundtracks. There are 30 different songs on this game that come from both the new and the older Disney Movies, I think it would be hard for anyone playing this game to not at least recognise one of the songs at least. Here is a list of some of the songs on this game and the movies they originate from: A Whole New World- (Aladdin) Cruella De Vil- (101 Dalmations) Be Our Guest- (Beauty and The Beast) *one of my favourites* The Work Song- (Cinderella) Woodys Round Up- (Toy Story) Once Upon A Dream- (Sleeping Beauty) Reflection- (Mulan) Almost There- (The Princess and the Frog) Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious- (Mary Poppins) The Bear Necessities- (The Jungle Book) To play this game you sing into the microphone (that comes with the game), along with the words in the correct tone and keeping in time with the music. The more notes you hot correctly the higher you score. This game concept is really similar to other singing style games. The graphics on this game are what you would expect from the Nintendo Wii, they are bright colourful and cartoon styled, they could be described as quite child-like compared to games available on the Xbox or Playstation, but I think that this is what attracts Nintendo fans as games are light hearted and fun to play/look at. The interface on this game is really easy to understand, its really simple to navigate from the title screen to whatever song you want to sing. You should be able to pick up this game in any Game, HMV or Gamestop locally, or if you can also purchase it on the internet. I bought this game for around £30 in HMV as this was the best deal at the time, however I bought this about 3 months ago so it probably hasn't decreased much in price. I can see this game for as cheap as £20 on the internet so if you don't mind having to wait on it, you may save some money buying it online. I got a lot of play time out of this game and think it was a great buy. Overall I think that this game is great, it is the kind of game that you either like the idea of or don't, as singing games aren't really for everyone. However if you like a good sing-a-long, and are a fan of the Disney Films, you'll love this game. *also posted on ciao under lorrainek90
Now you may or not be aware but I am a fan of the old karaoke especially araoke games. I really like Disney films I guess I am a big kid at heart and because I like singing I was really happy when I discovered this one i got it from ebay for £15 which is a great price for a wii game I feel. The game takes the usual form of other karaoke games you will need your wii, the game and a usb microphone to play this one. Usb microphones can be purchased seperatley from the game and I recommend buying them preowned from Game, Game Station or CEX as you can pick them up for as little as £6 and the 2 I have work just fine. So heres what happens you pop the game in select sing look for the song you would like to sing from the following Disney Classics- 101 Dalmatians - Cruella De Vil A Bug's Life - The Time Of Your Life Alladin - A Whole New World Beauty And The Beast - Be Our Guest Cars - Real Gone Cars - Our Town Cinderella A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes Cinderella - Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo (The Magic Song) Cinderella - So This Is Love Cinderella - The Work Song The Jungle - Book I Wan'na Be Like You The Jungle - Book The Bear Necessities Lady and the Tramp - He's A Tramp Lilo & Stitch 2 - Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride The Lion King - Can You Feel the Love Tonight The Lion King - Hakuna Matata The Lion King - I Just Can't Wait To Be King The Little Mermaid - Under the Sea Mary Poppins - Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Monsters, Inc - If I Didn't Have You Mulan - Reflection The Princess and the Frog - Almost There The Princess and the Frog - Dig A Little Deeper Peter Pan - You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly! Ratatouille - Le Festin Sleeping Beauty - I Wonder Sleeping Beauty - Once Upon a Dream Toy Story - You've Got A Friend In Me Toy Story 2 -Woody's Roundup Toy Story 2 - When She Loved Me Toy Story 2 - Woody's Roundup The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh - Winnie the Pooh Now as you can see from the list ( and I know there are some people against lists but I do think you need to see what you are buying sometimes else what the point in writing the review) there are many to choose from. Now being 27 and not having my own kids I am not really up on some of the latest Disney films like Princess and the Frog so they aren't any good for me but the good old classics like Beauty and Beast and Peter Pan I have watched enough times in my life to know the words to. The game play is the songs from the films with clips from the films played in background. The words are highlighted and there is a scale which marks how close to the note you are as you sing. You can choose from 3 levels of difficulty when you sing the harder the difficulty level the closer you have to be to hitting the right note noe heres the thing..... to sing you need to be mimicing the sound of the characters thats right get your Timon and Pumba voice on for The Lion King as these are the film versions of the song not the celebrity version so you have been warned. I thought the game was ok there are plenty of songs to choose from and songs for young and old. The thing is I found you can actually just hum to the song and score high because some of these Disney songs are harder than you think to sing when you are trying to mimic the characters so humin was sometimes the only option. This game can be played alone or with others I will give it 3 stars I think for kids its a fun game to play but the fact that its the original songs makes it that little less easy to enjoy as I am to busy trying to copy the characters than sing the song.
