Advantages: Lots of unlockables, covers whole story

Disadvantages: The story isn't that well told and some of the enemies are very frustrating.

First off let me say that I am a rather big Dragonball Z fan, I watched a lot of it as a kid. This game is perfect for Dragonball Z fans but I'm sure other people would enjoy it too. This is a fighting game but its rather different to most fighting games due to the fact it is not a side-on fighter. This is a 3D fighting game in every sense of the word i.e. the levels range from small to large and you can move anywhere in the level you aren't just stuck in a limited space. This makes this game realistic in terms of Dragonball Z, when you play it looks like a fight out of the TV show.

There are more than 120 characters from Dragonball, Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT but don't be mislead a lot of these are variations of the same character i.e. there is normal Goku, Supersaiyan Goku, Supersaiyan 3 Goku etc. You need to unlock most of the characters by playing through the story mode. The story mode spans Dragonball Z and GT and apart from a small amount, all the stories from the original show are present. The story mode is rather long and there are 3 unlockable sections if you complete certain tasks. There is also an Ultimate Battle Z mode which gives you a series of opponents to beat and adds different requirements or rules.

There is also a training mode to help you learn the moves and a duelling mode to practice against computer opponents or against another person.I use the Wii remote and nunchuck control method, the special moves are activated by pressing a button on the nunchuck and moving the remote in a specific direction. This is great but sometimes the moves don't work.

Summary: A few tweaks and this would be the best Dragonball Z game ever.
