Advantages: good alround fitness

Disadvantages: poor resistance band

So here we have another Wii fitness game. But this time we have one that is not a game but as a proper fitness workout.

So what sets this title apart from the rest of the so called fitness Wii titles. Well this title has a varied range of exercises for you to do and comes with an elastic band for resistance training.

Once you have the game running you need to put certain details into it like age, height and weight and then you can set how many calories you would like to burn in a week, the range of your workout will change so you're able to achieve this.

When you start on your workout there is a nice little video on how to do the exercise but once your ok with it you can bypass the video. Some of the exercises are a bit awkward to get the hang of for a start as you have to make sure you're holding the Wii remote and the Nunchuck correctly. Once you have mastered holding them in the correct way for each exercise then it should be plain sailing.

Now I want to cover the elastic band used for some of the resistance exercises. It's good in some ways but if you strength is good for a start then you feel as if your not getting and benefit from it. They say you can shorten the band either by standing on it but I feel it would have been better to have included other bans with the title of different colours for different resistance. I hope they do bring these out as an added extra at some point.

The other thing in the box is a leg or thigh strap that you fit to your leg and then put the Nunchuck into on some of the exercises. I found that if you're wearing certain types of shorts or tracksuit trousers that it can slip down during the exercise. Ok you can tighten it but not to much as you leg still needs blood flowing through it. If it had a rubber back on it I feel as that would work better. But saying that it is a good idea holding the Nunchuck like this and it works well on the track exercises.

Now if you have a Wii balance board then this can be used for some exercises but not many. If you don't have a balance board then don't worry there are plenty of other routines that don't require it. Sometimes it can be a pain having to get the balance board out for an exercise and then moving it for the next one because you need the space.

It's not long until you start to feel your heart rate go up and start to sweat. I was very surprised how quick this happened and I am reasonably fit. On the top of the screen it tells you how many exercises you have left to do. After you're finished you routine you can go to the calendar screen and it ticks the day you did the routine. You usually train for 2 days then have a day off.

This title in my opinion is the best fitness title out for the Wii. Ok there are areas of improvement which I hope they do for a future version. I did see a result after a month I was more toned and had lost weight. You do have to stick at it but then again you do for any fitness routine if you want to see results. Shop around as you can get this title at reasonable prices.

Summary: Does work if you stck at it

Sounds good, need to keep up the regime or I guess novelty will wear off.
