Advantages: Choice of exercises

Disadvantages: Slow and boring

I bought this as soon as it came out with the aim to do some exercise in the comfort of my own home and hopefully reap the benefits of going to the gym. I must say it had me hooked from the start with the different exercises but after a few days i was bored. Included with the game is a innovative leg strap and resistance band which are actually very good. The game is much different from wii fit as this concentrates more on cardio exercises were as wii fit concentrates on a mixture of things (mostly having fun!). The cardio exercises could be changed to ignore the ones you dont really like and you could spend time focusing on the areas you really want to but this mostly involves your legs and arms - not really much for the tummy area which was my main problem! There is a 30 day challenge to rotate what exercises you do but again they are pretty much all the same and after a few days i was bored. The aerobics dancing is in my opinion terrible so i gave this a miss. The boxing side is ok but much better with the wii fit or wii sport. The running exercises however are very good and i enjoyed this part. If this is for you yu will enjoy creating your exercise profile at the beginning and sticking to it but i just did not enjoy this. The interface itself is also very cluttered and you need to sit and work out were to go next to get started. The balance board can be used with this game but it is no use at all so do not go out and buy it to use with this game or you will have wasted your money. The trainers themselves are repetitive and you have to do the exercise perfectly or you will be told to do it again - and you will not be able to continue until you have got it right! In most cases you are just holding the nanchuck wrong or positioning yourself wrong...but it gets very frustrating and i found myself shouting at the screen most of the time i was playing, hence i never got time to work up a sweat! It is also very slow which is why a thought it was boring. To me a workout should be energetic and bouncy, this just wasn't. If you have the time to stick at it and want slow results this game is for you. It has its good and bad points but unfortunately for me the bad out weigh the good. I also think it is quite expensive but it seems to have held its price compared to other games. I definitely prefer wii fit or wii sport compared to this. However i have tried quite a few of the other fitness games and they have been much worse. I would suggest buying this in the sales or trying a friends first to see if you like it.

Summary: Good effort but not as good as wii fit

Thank you for this, I was looking into getting one when/if I eventually get a Wii.
