After recently buying a Nintendo Wii, I was really excited to play 'Game Party' after playing many hours on 'Wii Sports', and much too my surprise I was left bitterly disappointed. All of the mini-games are poorly controlled and lack entertainment value, very much unlike 'Wii Sports'. All that is required to play all of these games is a Wii remote. The worse of the seven mini games is without a doubt 'Trivia'. They obviously didn't think about making this mini-game appealing for all audiences as many of the questions are challenging for adults, let alone children! Due to this, I got bored of this game after a few attempts, especially as the same questions were being repeated. 1/10 The air hockey game is absolutely horrendous, the controlling for this game is so bad that I am finding it difficult too find a good point about this mini-game. Well I can't, so onto the next mini-game..... 3/10 I don't have to explain the darts game too you as it follows the rules of professional darts. You use the wii remote and throw it in a dart action, the difficult part is throwing the dart on the triple 20, or even on the 20. Controlling is much too difficult. 3/10 The idea of 'Hoop Shoot' (basketball) is too score as many times as possible in a period of time just by flicking the wii remote. I disliked this mini-game and got bored almost instantly as there isn't any skill required, just pure luck. 4/10 On the other hand there were a couple of OK mini games.... Ping Cup is a fairly fun game, but only with 2 players. The idea is too remove all your cups off the table by throwing ping-pong balls into them before your opponent does. Controls are OK after a few games practice. 6/10 Shuffleboard is also a good game but again only with 2 players. 6/10 Overall I will give this game a 5/10 Buy Carnival Games instead!
This game is a good low budget alternative to wii play, and i think, for its price, it ok. There are 7 game to choose from; Trivia, ping cup, skill ball, darts, table hockey, hoop shoot and shuffle board. Some of these games are extremly fun and addictive, and some are the complete and utter opposite. My personal favourites are darts and hoop shoot, because they are simple to play and seem to work well, the worst one by a mile is ping cup, because the controls are stupid and its really hard, i spent an hour trying to get a stupid ball in a stupid cup! All of the other games aren't bad, nor good. The controls are simple, on most of the games, and they are easy to play. Unlockable items are availble, such as colour of items, backgrounds and player avatars, which in my opinion is a rubbish reward for play loads of times. You can keep a record of your tickets( tickets are gained when you play a ceirtain game for a ceirtain amount of time) in the records section, which is a nice addition. Thanks For Reading,
Well, this game was a complete let down! After opening the Wii console and playing on the Wii sports game, included with the console, we were ready to get onto the next game and from the quality of enjoyment and the way the game played we were convinced all the Wii games would be like this - how wrong could one be? The process of choosing characters and starting a new game was so elaborate and confusing it left you feeling very alienated and dissatsified with the game. It doesn't coincide with any of the other Wii games such as the Wii sports or Mario Kart which involve the Mii characters and make the games feel connected and worth paying for. Once you actually got through to playing the games, the format was equally confusing and the processes were extremely slow unlike the other products, which meant the experience was poor in comparison. Although it seems like a good idea and different to the other games such as Wii sports, it really isnt worth the money - you will only be left with some very dissatsified faces when they realise how poor the performance is.
This game was one of the first games we bought for our wii console last year. It sounded really good from the cover, and I think that we paid about £19.99 for it but you can get it for much less than that now. I've seen it for £12.99 on Amazon.co.uk. I have to say that although it is a good game, it is one of the games in our collection that we have played the least. It consists of seven mini games to play which include ...... Darts, Table hockey, Skill ball, Hoop shoot, Ping cup, shuffle board, and a trivia game. I would not really recommend this game for children, as my step children ( aged 9 and 12 ) get really frustrated with it. It is more for adults to play as it can be really quite difficult to control. Just slight movements are required for the darts and the shuffle board, and it does take time to get used to. However me and my husband do enjoy playing this game. I would say that it is a good game to have in your collection, just don't get your hopes up too high with it.
Game Party Wii... Game Party is a game for the Wii computer console. It is one disc containing seven different skill games. Because it is a game for the Wii, it is far more interactive than playing on other computer consoles. It costs around £19.99 pence when bought new but I expect can be found a lot cheaper second hand or even new but bought from an online store. This is one of a few games that I was included in the Wii console package. The main reason I chose this as one of the games that were included was because of its brilliant multiplayer ability. The games that are on the disc are all games that you would play alongside other people. The games are: Darts, Table Hockey, Skill Ball, Hoop Shoot, Ping Cup, Shuffle Board and Trivia. The game is described on the back of the box as "The Ultimate Party Experience". This did sound promising, the idea of the games it offers, and the idea of the type of game play it really sounded like a good one to have in the collection. The game was easy to start up and beginning laying as you can opt for a straight forward game play or spend more time and choose and create different plays than the basic ones on offer. However, this may sound fancy but it really is not. The players are simple and the way to create players is frankly basic and dull. I would describe the game play as very box like and this must mean that the actual graphics are low. The games are all very easy to play but not overlying enjoying. The game play is fun with two or more players but one your own can seem boring and a waste of time. The game play itself though I find rather disappointing and I would much rather play the Wii sports that comes free with the Wii console. I think my best game from this disc has got to be table hockey but even that seems fairly low and limiting. Because the game just does not feel right it gives off a rather disappointing feel all over. Darts is a fun game and can be pretty intense when playing with someone else but aging the game play just seems like something from a few years ago. You are playing with the Wii remote though and that does give you a more interactive feel but that does not make up for the overall feel of the game. I would say it is an okay one to have in your collection to perhaps get out when you feel like a game of darts or such like. Overall, however I found it rather disappointing and would of opted for another game if I had known then what I know now. I think an average score of 2 stars is applicable here. I would not really give it a recommendation but if you can get it for cheap, really, really cheap then give it a try but in general I wouldn't bother with it.
With not owning a Wii myself, I have always been overly intrigued about playing one of these new and definitely very cool looking games consoles. It just happened this bank holiday that I ended up spending some time with my boyfriend and his mum's Wii. Having bought a new game for the console earlier that day I was persuaded after a little while to play against him. Not that putting me in a competition situation is a good idea... Especially against him..! ~~ Packaging ~~ As with any console the games are always cased in the distinctive DVD style packaging with the trademark Nintendo white background with the Wii logo in the top right hand corner just so the customer knows that it is for the Wii console. The cover features the words 'Game Party' is an orange oval in white writing, and features pictures of all the games featured on the disk, including pictures of darts and basket balls, and a Wii remote with the jacket on. Which you have to use now as the company will not be liable to breaking TV's..! The disk is encased in the white plastic which looks like the DVD case, with the orange and white writing of 'Game Party,' the disk is actually blue with the Wii logo engraved out of the blue colour and certain information that quite frankly being someone not brilliant with complicated technological things I don't understand..! Doesn't stop me playing the game though..! ~~ The Games ~~ The games on the disk are; · Darts · Hoop Shoot · Ping Cup · Shuffleboard · Skill Ball · Table Hockey · Trivia All the games as you would expect on the Wii are slightly difficult as getting the aim right and pushing the right buttons at the right time does get a little tedious when you keep getting it wrong. Never the less they are all so much fun and get you moving and get competition flowing between whoever is playing the games. Some but not all are multiplayer, the only single player games are, 'Skill Ball,' and 'Hoop Shoot.' ~~ Darts ~~ On the game this is my personal favourite, it is not tricky at all simply aim at the place on the dart board hold the A button and throw..! This is a fairly competitive game for two - four players. At first it is quite difficult to actually score points as the darts are quite prone to bouncing of the metal on the board. Leaving your character with a red face and looking amusingly angry..! The scoring is exactly the same as on normal darts you could play in a pub.. The graphics on this game are average as they always are on Wii games, with the characters shadow on the board sometimes it does get a little annoying to try and hit the bottom sections off the board. ~~ Hoop Shoot ~~ A single player, with the object of the game in a minute or two, to slam as many virtual basket balls into the hoop as possible. It is easily useable with just a flick of the wrist with the Wii remote to get the balls in. It all depends on where your Wii sensor is played to how easily you can get the balls in..! Although the graphics are quite funny as the balls go out of the confined area where the hoops are and end up hitting the characters surrounding your character..! Being only a single player again it isn't as fun as some of the others as you do not get the competition value and I did find it boring watching and playing..! ~~ Ping Cup ~~ I will apologise in advance about my rambling of this game..! Oh my how long was I stood around this Sunday afternoon playing this game... For a starter working out how to get the balls into the oppositions cups is a nightmare. I began to get bored after I had tried 4 or 5 different button combinations and others trying to do the same... We eventually worked it out but I have no idea how..! It is a matter of releasing the A button half way up to your TV screen and flicking your wrist..! When you finally work out how to play this two player game it is worth it as, it is so competitive, as if you bounce the ball into the cup two of the ten are removed but if it just drops in you only loose one... It is a lot of fun and the characters are quite amusing when they see the side they're on are loosing they bury their head in their hands, this is enough to make me want to play the game..! ~~ Shuffleboard ~~ This game is two player and could cause fights and revenge, each player gets four pucks(?) to slide as far down the board as possible without going off the edge and score as many points as possible, in denominations of 1, 2, 3, 4... There is four rounds before the player who has the highest points gets their points then the game carries on, until you get bored, or annoyed with the person who's winning.. Or if your anything like me you end up revenge sliding pushing your oppositions pucks off the table..! The characters and graphics on this are as similar as the other games, although the characters this time do spend a lot of time brushing themselves down which again is quite funny..! ~~ Skill Ball ~~ A remake of a classic arcade game, throwing a ball into numbered holes which are dependant on which amount of points you get, from 10 points to 100 points. This game also gives tickets, on the ticket menu on the game it says it gives tickets for every game, however I have only encountered tickets for 'Skill Ball.' When you do reach 25 tickets though you can change the colour of your ball, there are around five different colours to pick from. You are given 10 balls to begin with and every time one goes in a numbered hole you get that many points but if it fails to go in you get it back and can have another go..! This game is only single player which does make it a bit boring either watching or waiting for your turn and even more frustrating when you cannot get enough momentum in your controller to get the ball in a hole..! ~~ Table Hockey ~~ Similar to air hockey you can play in most arcades, concentration is essential on this game more than the others because the characters are so much more sensitive and I lost my patience with this game and ended up scored 4 own goals. After a while it does get frustrating, but out of all the games on this disk I have to say this pone does get you moving more and is more animated than the others as it is quite likely you will get mad with your opposition..1 But the fun of these games is the fact that you do get the competition and the laugh with whoever our playing with. ~~ Trivia ~~ Out of all the games I will say this is boring the questions are for an older player rather than a teenager, as questions about old films and old presidents are not within my knowledge a great deal..! Although it does mean that we learn something new..! The best bit about this game is the spinner to chose the category of questions which include, Film and TV, amongst others. By holding the A button and flicking the remote down you can spin the board..! If that interests me this shows just how boring the actual game is..! The characters, there is a choice of about 6 characters, none of them are especially resembling human form but its only a face for a game I guess..! Those characters that are available, can be extended through playing games with more tickets... The music, well what can I say someone in particular who knows who he is spent the whole time we were playing dancing to the music, but I must say it is incredibly cheesy not something that I think anyone would buy..! Although the sound quality will of course depend on your television but on a normal TV it is of a good quality, and the graphic despite the fact they are highly amusing they are good quality and will keep you entertained while playing these games..! Prices; Game Station - £19.99 Game - £17.99 Play.com - 17.99 Amazon - £14.96 (including postage)
Game Party for the Wii is a collection of classic skill games from around the world. The games you have to choose from are Darts, Table Hockey, Skill Ball, Hoop Shoot, Ping Cup, Shuffle Board and Trivia all provide intuitive and fun challenges. The controls are easy to use, up to four players can play at once, or go single-player against the computer where you take on the competition and keep track of your progress on the leader board. I got this game the other day. I played some of the games that are multiplayer, these games were good not the best I have played though but far from the worst i have played as well. The quiz can sometimes have some americanised questions. This game is a good buy for the money and is a great laugh for parties and large groups. However, it is quite difficult to get the hang of some of the games and does not provide the same enjoyment as Wii Sports. But overall not a bad game, value for money and is well worth it for seven games in one.
