This game is basically a modern take on the old classic Asteroids, only fast-paced and with enemies chasing you and various power-ups. You have to earn Geoms, which is your currency and also as you collect increases your multiplier so your score goes up quicker. The concept seems really straightforward, but this doesnt lead to a game where you play the same levels over again; each one has a totally different feel. The area can be different shapes and sizes, and the type of enemies sent to get you vary incredibly. Sometimes the simple games are the best, and Geometry Wars is exactly that. However, with so many different incarnations being released over many formats, is the game staying true to its arcade shooter roots?
