Advantages: Awesome controlls, variety of playable monsters, Interactive landscapes, and great replay value

Disadvantages: Annoying camera work

As a rabid fan of anything to do with Godzilla (or Japanese giant monsters in general), I had a moral obligation to dish out $50 for this sucker.

The controls take some getting used to, but once you flip through the instructions manual a few times and play a few "Brawl" matches, you'll be good to go right into the story mode. In the story mode, your monster faces off with other monters (up to four at a time) in various destroyed cities around the world. Unlike most fighting games, the outcome of your battles affects the ending you will get. In addition to that, you gain points for beating other monsters, destroying buildings, destroying military vehicles, and other such fun. With these points, you can unlock new playable monsters, arenas to battle in, and concept art for the game.

Most fighting games have something lacking, and this game is no different than that. The graphics are somewhat lacking, but do not take away from game play. The "edgy hard rock" menu screens is pretty ridiculous, but again it does not deteriorate from game play.

My biggest problem is the camera. In the congested citiscapes you will be battling in, the camera will position itself awkwardly behind a building. The building will become translucent, but that doesn't make it any less disorienting. When monsters spread out across the map, the camera will pull back to an almost birds-eye-view, making it all but impossible to continue fighting effectively. This has made me lose more than a few battles I had been winning.

Summary: Without a doubt, the best Godzilla game to come out for any system.
