Advantages: New band instruments, More guitars and songs
Disadvantages: None at all
This new version of Guitar Hero is very different for one main reason, it now includes a drum kit and microphone. World Tour takes Guitar Hero up a level, so that now four people can all play together at once. The standard band pack typically costs about £120 for the Nintendo Wii.
In the band pack the player is going to recieve everything they need for the game, a guitar, microphone, and a drum kit. Unfortunately an extra guitar has to be purchased for an additional £30 if a bass is required. But when considering how much is in this pack, it is certainly worthwhile.
For those who have never played Guitar Hero before, this is a fantastic introduction into the game. It offers more songs than any previous Guitar Hero game, and can have even more added with additional expansion packs, which I think can be purchased for around £20 - £30 each. THere are also many different customisable guitars, including all the favourites, the obvious being the Gibson Les Paul.
Guitar Hero mantains the same gameplay as all previous games on the guitars, with the addition of a solo where players just move their hands up and down their guitars. The drums use the same interface, but different buttons obviously and also a peddle at the start of every bar, it is very realistic. The graphics are reasonable on the Wii, but it does not really matter as it's not what the game is about.
Overall, Guitar Hero World Tour is a thriller, it provides hours of fun for either a solo player or a whole group with the new band set up. The instruments are all becoming more realistic, and there are a variety of difficulty levels. Definately a great buy.
