      Very helpful

      Overall dullness

My other half is quite a fan of everything relating to the wizard otherwise known as Harry Potter....hence why I have found myself, out of boredom, playing the version of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 we have for our Wii. Movie game tie-ins are a big no no and I have barely seen ten seconds of Harry Potter films so why I decided to play this I have no idea and even though I found the game tedious in parts and with major flaws, to be perfectly honest it was no where near as bad as I was expecting it to be. In fact Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 does have some very good moments amongst the bad!

We paid £15 for this game new which is about the going price of Wii games online now a few days after release. I would shop around if I were you to try and find a better price and second hand Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is probably much cheaper but £15 seems to be the going rate online new.

For fans of the film you will enjoy the experience of being in the scenes and battles that are present in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2...or so I am told. The movie storyline is present with official voice overs, stills and set pieces from the big screen adaptation. This means fans of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 will be pleased and it gives it a certain authenticity. You play as all the main characters who are tried with the task of defencing Hogwarts.

The gameplay is very hit and miss. The first thing that lets the game down, as with a lot of recent wii titles, is the presentation. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 on Wii just looks ugly and even though this would not matter if the gameplay was great, the ugliness of the presentation makes it feel rushed and look cheap. Although slightly better than the worst wii games Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is certainly no oil painting. Not that it effects the gameplay.....

.....What does effect the gameplay though is the quite awful controls here. At times it feels so tight, so secure and well in control but in certain moments, in the heat of a spell of the midst of a battle it just falls apart and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 feels like a mess. Its hard to move characters and complete actions, its hard to do anything! The slowdown in the game also adds to this!

The gameplay itself is not overly great, platforming elements, battling and puzzles....gets boring and repetitive and is nothing you haven't seen before but there are some puzzles to really get stuck into and the first few hours are fun until it starts to drone,

You will get about 20 hours out of this, its not hard and there is very little to have you coming back to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 for any more than a first run through. Fans and kids will love it, serious gamers will never even consider Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 let alone finish it. good cash-in but nothing more!
