I absolutely love our wii and love Gordon Ramsey so why not get this game! So I did. I got this game from Game for £9.99 a few months ago. The aim of this game is to run a restaurant, whilst also prepare and cook the dishes. This is mainly a one player game but there is also a two player challenge game.
When I first played this I couldnt put it down for days on end. I was well and truly addicted. As you go through each level you must serve your customers, making sure they are seated, have their order taken and of course have their food on time and in true Gordan Ramsey style, it must taste good. In this game, there are some voice clips of Gordan Ramsey which is good and makes it kinda funny to play.
As you go on through the levels, you get more customers per serving and the dishes get harder to prepare and cook. After each level you are given a rating depending on how well your service went. The aim is to get 5 stars every time. You unlock levels this way and move onto harder levels each time. When cooking, there are a number of things you do, such as boil, chop and other 'cooking like' actions, which makes it a little more real.
What is good about this game is that there is an aim and you can kinda see where the next level will take you. With Gordan Ramsey shouting at you if you go wrong, you kinda have no choice but to do really well. With him shouting "Come on!" or "thats not good enough", surely anyone would be motivated to do really well!
I really like this game, it has great gaming potential and is great value for money. I am still playing this game and love challenging people to play the two player mode just so I can compete with them in true Gordon Ramsey mode. Try this game, its really good fun!
I've wanted this game for months now so was absolutely chuffed when I spotted it in Game last week on sale for just £9.98. It is also available from Amazon for £13.95 which I believe to be good value for a really good game.
I'm hopeless at computer games, I'm forever buying games for both the wii and the DS and leaving them on the pile because I just cannot get the hang of them. Personally I like games with a target, a story mode and that don't require a special skill to get them done. I have wanted this game for so long because I believed that it may be similar to Diner Dash, a game that I have enjoyed online for a few years now. If you like Diner Dash, you will like this too!
When you start the game, similar to others you are asked to input your name and you are then given a small tutorial. The tutorial talks you through what you need to complete in the beginning of the game, I found the tutorial to be very useful as it gave you step by step instructions and showed you rather than just telling you. The graphics on the game are fairly average for todays gaming however they are quite good for the wii. The aim of the game similar to the TV programme is to run a restaurant. You run both the dining room and the kitchen therefore showing guests to their seats, taking their order and then going to the kitchen, preparing ingredients and cooking them.
There are a number of things you must do in order to keep customers happy and in turn, keep Gordon happy. You must seat guests quickly and also take their orders quickly. When preparing their food and in turn cooking it obviously various dishes take different times, you must sync the food to be ready in time so it can go out to the dining room and then serve it to the table. Depending on how happy the customers are and how well you prepare the food, Gordon will rate you out of 5 stars. Over the first 14 days it is important that you get a particular amount of stars in order to go up in your career eg. apprentice to junior cook.
So far I have found this game fun and fairly easy, it is not easy to complete the evening as often you will find yourself rushing and Gordon will be barking orders and obsenities at you! However, on the majority of my evenings I have gained 4 or 5 stars and I honestly wouldn't have thought I would have done so well!
I would recommend this game for anyone over the age of around 8. Although Gordon shouts at you, the swearing is cut out! It is a fun strategy game but is very fast moving. I imagine the game would also be fun to play on the DS.
