Advantages: Wii Zapper is fun to use, low price

Disadvantages: Levels bland at times, gets very difficult

Links crossbow training comes packaged with the long awaited wii zapper. The zapper itself is designed perfectly, with the wiimote and nunchuck fitting neatly on its plastic casing. The nunchucks wire is kept hidden in the middle section of the zapper. The trigger works well, however the zapper is possibly a tad too big and does not really feel like a lightgun.

The game is based on the levels in the The Legend of Zelda: Twight Princess, which will be a joy for all Zelda fans. However, some of the levels are a bit bland at times and although you can compete over points with a friend, the game is essentially one player. The gameplay consists of two aspects, 'on the rails' and off. In the 'on the rails' levels you shoot mainly bullseye targets and various enemies including skeletons. In the free roaming levels you shoot enemies by using the nunchuck on the zapper to move around and moving your cursor to change direction, which works relatively well but takes alittle getting used to.

The best thing about the game is that it is quite retro in the sense that it is totally points based, the higher the points you get, the higher the medal you receive. Other highlights include the fact that there are hidden points to be found by shooting random objects in the levels and rapid-fire pick ups that make your crossbow fire like a machine gun.

To conclude, although the game is not bad, its main attraction is the wii zapper. But at £20 its fairly good value for your money and the zapper can be used for other games such as Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles.

Summary: Not too shabby!

So what is the zapper really? I hadn't heard of it.
