Madworld is a new title just released for the wii by Sega. This title has had a lot of hype over the last 18 months about its graphic style (very Sin City) and gore content which is quite rare for the family friendly wii.

I have to say the game was worth the wait and didn't disappoint.


About the game :

You play Jack Cayman who has a ultra cool chainsaw instead of an arm as your main weapon. And your job is to clear up a group of Terrorists called "The Organizers" who have become a target group in Variant City.
The Organizers have destroyed all of the transportation and communications with the rest of the World, and have also released a deadly virus into the atmosphere. This will kill everybody within 24 hours!!

The City has now turned into a gameshow kind of theme and you have to destroy the gang to get the Vaccine to save the World (very dramatic and odd plot)


Gameplay :

The gameplay is very easy to pick up, and you have a easy to follow tutorial which explains all the action moves you need. This is quite fun and needed really to play the game, as it can get abit overwhelming trying to pull of special trick moves without the knowledge.

Most of the levels are open environment's, this allows you the player to freely explore the area. There are also some great sections where you will use a motorcycle for combat, this is a lot of fun.

There are also mini games, one is the "Blood Bath Challenge" where you have to complete different activity's to obtain extra points. This is a very addictive part of the game.


Graphics :

I LOVE the graphics, ultra stylish cartoon style black and white. With bright red blood for the gore effects. And retro style Batman words from the TV series popping up in Yellow. Adds to its kitsch value and makes it really stand out from the wii game crowd.
The screen can sometimes seem a little busy, but once you get used to the style of the look, you can easily get past it.


Sound :

Great voice acting, and chainsaw sound effects. You have the option of turning the music off, I opted for this as it was giving me a head ache to be honest. Not my style of music.
It doesn't effect the gameplay at all on or off.


Overall :

I really like this game, still playing it and im about 10 hours in. So there is plenty of value. Its a great stand out game for the console which I think is needed. Reminds me of Gears of War with the chainsaw, but that's not a bad thing!

This game is also very cheap at the moment in gamestation over Easter. Only £17.95 from the store and website. Game is also selling it just abit more expensive at £19.99

I would recommend this game to anyone that likes abit of fun slashing pointless violence, very quick action and highly addictive!
