Madworld - Worth the hype? (Madworld (Wii))

Advantages: Good graphics, fun, innovative

Madworld was one of the most hyped games for the Wii before it was released and even the Daily Mail featured an article highlighting the levels of violence that are available to players in the game. It is most definately one of the most violent games that I've ever played. However it is also one of the most creative.

The game provides you with the means to attack or kill your enemies but it's up to you how you kill them. Will you use a chain saw or beat them to death? Will you throw them in a flaming barrel and then throw it infront of a train? There are many many possibilities that can be explored in the game but they can only truly be explored by the player.

Gameplay wise although very enjoyable and some moments in the game will make you feel very clever for coming up with such a unique way of disposing of an enemy, the game can get repetitive. A lot of the levels have the same environmental weapons; barrels, signposts and spikes. So it can get a bit repetitive.

My advice would be to play the game in short periods and you'll have a blast. The graphics in the game are pretty cool and stylised and many gamers will like them however if this game hadn't have gone for such a unique art style it is likely there would not have been as much hype.

Summary: Good game with a few minor flaws, definately worth renting out or pick it up if you see it for £15
