Advantages: controller wheel, fun, entertaining

Disadvantages: have to buy second wheel, some people cheat

This game takes advantage of the Nintendo Wii's unique controller and makes a classic game even better. The game box as pictures includes the Mario kart game as well as one mariokart wheel, which is good until you want to play two player games and then you have to fork out and buy another wheel. I must mention that the wheel attachment is not necessary to play the game but does make it much more entertaining.

Along with the classic game, a couple of changes have taken place namely the introduction of motorbikes to the game (which are better than cars at high speed, and handle better), new and classic tracks and finally some new characters, which stick out like a sore thumb to us gamers that have owned Mario kart on the original snes platform.

The game features two modes which are battle and race, which both provide hours of entertainment. As the levels get harder as you lead you seem to get hit with everything the game can throw at you, and usually on the last lap you get hit, overtaken and then come 2nd. Nintendo need to sort out the AI bias with a patch of some sort.

The online gameplay is amazing allowing you to hook up with your mates or play anyone in the world. There are some cheats available that I have seen some people use, but it shouldn't detract from the fact that this is a great game.

There are so many variables in this game that it makes it an accessible game to any person of any skill level or age which in my opinion defines it as a classic.
