i bought this for my husband for xmas and the whole family (including our 3and4 year old daughters) had a great time playing.
This game is based on the beijing olympics and features super mario, sonic and all their friends (and enemies).
When playing the game you can choose to be one of these characters, and they all have their own strengths and weaknesses which are displayed in four separate groups:
All-around type, speed type, power type, and skill type. Each character has all of these but in different amounts and it is up to you to decide on which character you think will perform better in each game, i.e when running i choose sonic (speed type).
You can also use your own mii character on there (if you have created one).
The games are set up in different categories depending on what you want to do. There is circuit where you can do three different games in a row and compete with other characters.
the single option where you can play any game and compete for first place, and mission mode where you try and complete the missions which then unlock certain games and activities which are locked.
There are many different games to play, running 100/400m, hurdles, long jump, hammer throw and trampolining to name just a few.
This game is such good fun, most of the activities are easy to play (easy but tiring), although some challenges are quite difficult i for example cannot do the swimming challenge to save my life.
You can win awards, and un-lock levels and PLay single or multi player (up to 4 i think).
The game quality is excellent, my children love it, the game really gets you up and moving, and due to the amount of characters, activities and awards you can earn there is hours of fun wrapped into this game.
we have been playing a little every day since xmas its really addictive.
my favourite games are 400m running and gymnastics.
the really good thing is that even though you need a nunchuck for most of the levels, there are some levels that allow you to use just a controller instead of a nunchuck if you havent got one or dont want to use one.
