Advantages: highly interactive, best played multiplayer, many events to unlock
Disadvantages: Unable to play online with other players
Mario and sonic at the olympic games is a must have for new wii owners. It is a highly interactive game which makes the most of the wii's capabilities.
There are three different modes to the game: single match, mission mode and circuit mode. In single match, players can select an event to play individually, aiming for the highest score to earn medals and unlock further events to play. Mission mode allows players to select a character and meet specific goals in certain events to unlock more events and missions. Finally circuit mode, which I find most enjoyable playing multiplayer allows you to play a premade circuit featuring a number of events, or the option of free circuit where players select their favourite events to play one after the other, aiming for the top three in order to get a gold, silver or bronze medal.
Events are categorised into the following: athletics, gymnastics, shooting, archery, rowing, aquatics, fencing, and table tennis.
The game features all of the well known characters from both mario and sonic, making it an enjoyable and highly interactive game for all ages. Personally, I find it it best played in multiplayer, but is no less enjoyable if played one player.
Summary: A must have game for all wii owners

- 27/10/09 A nice review, but I'd be really interested to know what type of sports and events you can take part in. Let me know if you update this and I'll come back and re-rate it. :) |
