Intro Nintendo has built up a reputation amongst many as being a games developer that likes bright colours in its games, and the Wii itself is famous for its unique control system and for its party games. So its no surprise really to see a game like Mercury Meltdown Revolution (MMR from here on in) hit the shelves on the Wii format. What is surprising though is that it's actually not a bad game at all. The basis for the game is that you take control of a blob of mercury. You then have to guide this blob of mercury around various stages to get to goal within the time limit. Now this doesn't sound like much, and it isn't but in its simplicity lays its ... and now for something completely different... that was how I felt when I first loaded this game. I got it because it was bundled in with my Wii, and I wasn't really expecting too much from it, but it's a really great game! It is one of those old fashioned games where it takes a few seconds to learn it and a lifetime to master it. You have a little blob of liquid mercury and you have to guide it through the level by tilting your wii remote this way and that. The 'level' is a surface with no sides. Having said that I did buy them singstar with microphone as a surprise one Christmas and their excitement at seeing a PS2 game soon turned to anguished cries of "You bought that for yourself didn't you"!!! Ooops caught out again. When it comes to the wii I seem to be constantly buying games as they are quite often under £20.00 and seem to be suitable for the whole family. The boys aren't complaining and everyone including my ... Read the complete review

When I noticed this game in the shop I picked it up, had a quick scan of the back and thought it would be my type of game. I had never heard of it before and not seen any reviews or adverts on it so was unsure of what it would be like. The idea of the game is to guide you blob of mercury through a variety of levels using the Wii remote to guide it through. Sounds simple but you have to avoid traps and make your way through other devices without falling off the edge and losing all your mercury. This game can be quite tricky but with all the different levels to get through really does get you hooked. Was a bit pricey when I bought it at £39.99 but I'm sure you could get it ...
