Advantages: Customizable rules

Disadvantages: Irritating music

It's perhaps best to start with a question - what was wrong with the board game version?

Don't get me wrong, the technology is amazing - the graphics, sounds and controls are all impressive and very engaging (not to mention user friendly). But this game release seems to miss the entire point of Monopoly.

Board games are about socialising and communicating with each other, at a table and face to face! it's just not the same when you can't accuse someone of stealing money from the bank, or spill a drink over mayfair. call me nostalgic, but I like to play a game I can throw off the table in a strop if I'm losing!

Anyway, if you are still determined to get this game then you should know a few things. First, the music is very irritating (although you can turn it off in the settings). On the few occasions I played it I ended up putting my iPod on instead.

However, second, the gameplay is pleasantly customizable. You can modify all of those "house" rules that every family seems to have. For example, do you get double money if you land on "Go!", or do you get everyone's fines if you land on free parking.

So, two positive points (graphics and customisable rules), and many negatives (music and anti-socialness) - it's your choice!

Summary: Play the board game instead

Not much detail in this review but I liked your opinion and the way you expressed it :-)
