Advantages: Price, varietyof exercises

Disadvantages: not quite as fun,

This is the game that wii fit tried to be. Sure its not as fun with all the cute graphics, but for anyone wanting proper exercise than this is much better and much cheaper!

This game doesn't use the wii balance board, so the initial cost is just purchasing the game. (Im presuming that every one already has a standard controller!)

The 1st time you play the game you are encouraged to enter lots of details about yourself, so that the game can make an individual workout. This includes your weight, which has to be entered in lbs, so have some scales handy. You will also measure your body in various places (so a tape measure pretty essential too) and input the measurements so that it can keep a track on your progress this way. Then you have to take your resting pulse and then do 2 minutes of exercise and test your pulse again. Finally it gives you a set amount of time to perform certain exercises: crunches, press ups, stretches and squats to work out which areas your weak in. (that would be press ups for me!) Sure you could cheat, but what would be the point really? Then the wii makes a exercise program for you and recommends from your results which areas you may need to tackle. You can also enter a weight goal to reach if you require.

The exercise segments are split into categories such as Cardio, Yoga, Upper body, Core body, flexibility and it recommends to you which one to do. (although you can pick any of them you like.) You then select how long you which to work out for, from 15 mins to 1 hour.
Each workout begins with a warm up and gradually gets harder. After each segment you are asked to tell the wii how hard you found the previous exercises and it adjusts the next workout accordingly. As the work outs are different, its less boring than an exercise video as you never know exactly what is coming next.

All the exercises have a tutorial option, which means that people with a lot of experience do not have to listen to long explanations of each exercise, but for those new to keep fit all the information's there for them.
For anyone new to yoga, some of the explanations are not entirely clear and its also hard to keep your eyes on what's going on, on the screen when your in some of the positions. So you may need to watch through the tutorials several times before actually being able to follow on screen. Otherwise your find yourself not being able to see the TV and being told to go from a downward dog to a plank and wondering what's going on!

I've only had the game a few days, but would say that for anyone looking for a new way to exercise, that either doesn't have the money or simply doesn't want a wii fit it's definitely worth £20.00 (ish) I have a wii fit and found that more of a game and less about serious exercise.

Summary: Definatley worth buying
