Advantages: Motivational, varied workouts, handy fitness and diet tips

Disadvantages: Repetitive music and Maya comments

I bought Wii Fit when it came out and was getting a little bored of the same exercises, so when this game came out my boyfriend got me it as a present (bless!). I like it because it's like having a personal trainer at home - when you first start the game you enter data (measurements, weight, heart rate etc) and the game creates a workout for you based on these and your desired target. Each workout is different and targets one main focus area, such as upper body, cardio or core. You can also enter your level of commitment, ie, the days you schedule workouts on. The AI personal trainer, Maya, is very encouraging when you are staying on track but she will tell you off if you miss your workout!

As you do more workouts you unlock different music and settings, and after every 10 workouts you'll do a physical challenge, where you retake the data you entered when setting up your profile. This helps you to keep track of how you're progressing and is a brilliant motivational tool.

The only downsides I would mention are that Maya gets a bit boring (like with fitness DVDs, after a few times you've heard all their comments and jokes!), there aren't that many different music tracks (so if you do a workout that takes 45 minutes or more you hear the same tracks repeated) and it's not quite as interactive as Wii Fit (for all Maya knows you could be sitting on your sofa with a cuppa and a packet of chocolate hobnobs instead of exercising!).

All in all though, the positives outweigh the negatives by far, and I'd much rather work out with Maya that at my local gym, plus it's easy to fit in a half hour session. Highly recommended for those who balk at the price of Wii Fit and people like me who have Wii Fit but need a bit extra variety.

Summary: The ideal way to get fit for gymphobes and those with busy lives
