Advantages: Graphics are quite nice, has split-screen, a lot of cars, good customization.
Disadvantages: No ai in multiplayer, just doesn't fit in with the NFS Theme, no ai in multiplayer.
This is when the Need For Speed series started to go downhill, Most Wanted was excellent, Carbon was a step down but still a good game, and Pro Street lost nearly all the appeal it had.
I think the main thing that i dislike about this game, is the fact that they've removed police cars, every sort of free roam that everyone loved, and turned it into a circuit racer like Forza and Gran Turismo, games which the Need For Speed series just can't compare too. All tracks now take place on closed circuit courses. Several tracks in ProSreet are based on real world locations. A few old game modes do return however, such as Drag and Drift events.
The driving with the wiimote is quite nice and i think adds a bit to the game, but the game still just doesnt feel like Need For Speed. The game does have a 2 player split screen mode, but AI is not supported. The Xbox 360, DS, PSP, PS3 and PC versions all feature online multiplayer.
The customization is similar to that of Need For Speed Carbon. Keeping the same autosculpt feature that created so much potential, however there are a few things that were removed from ProStreet, such as neon, as all races take place during the day, as opposed to Carbon which entirely took place at night.
Compared to the other Need For Speed games, there are a lot of cars, 46 in total (55 on PS3,PC,360), all are fully customizable, buying the collectors edition (PC,PS3,360 only) adds an extra 5 cars, using cheats can unlock a further 4 cars.
If it hadn't have been a Need For Speed game, it might have been good, but they tried to combine a street racing game with a circuit racing game, and it didn't turn out well.
Summary: It had the potential to be good, but people expect cool police chases from NFS, not circuit racing.
