based on the films with Jack Sparrow played by Johhny Depp, this game has so much promise with good story mode and the ability to use the remote and nun chuck as a sword as you dodge and move to dfeat your enemies.
Fight as Captain jack sparrow, Will Turner or Elizabeth Swan every fight gives you the chance to out think your opponent and send them to Davy Jones locker. Or dfeated Davy Jones and his band of villains and become the king of the sea yourself.
The story has added bits not in the film, but could easily fit in to the story of the film, and extends how long you cna play the game for.
With the wii remote and nun chuck you move as if you were actually wielding the sword and move about dodging the blows from enemies. Make sure you dont give mercy as pirates wont return the mercy.
The gameplay is ok, and story is good, however i felt the remote movement was rather lucky, and hard to control, which took away one of the main things that was appealing from this game. I was rather disappointed by this, and this is why i wouldnt recommend paying more than £10 for this dated Wii game.
Save your money and buy a better game for the Wii.
This game has everything a pirate wants! You have sword-play and gambling! Throughout the game you play as Captain Sparrow as if you are playing through the film itself.
The controls are as simple as ever. You swing the Wii-Mote to use it as a sword to attack your enemies. This makes use of your the Wii-Mote. All the other controls are simple and easy to use.
The graphics are average and nothing really special and most of the sounds don't sound like the original actors which lets the game down a bit.
Game play is really fun and even includes some areas in which you have to get passed guards un-noticed. To do this you have to use "Jackism". This is the technique of quickly pushing a button which comes up. Whilst doing this, Jack moves himself in quite funny ways which can become quite funny.
Multi player mode isn't anything special. It isn't really too fun either and it is much more fun to play on the normal story mode.
This game is good for any Pirates of the Caribbean fans but isn't anything too special.
I bought this game simply for the fact that I loved watching the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy and I had heard good things about it.
I managed to pick it up fairly cheaply after paying £11.99 for it in a local games store. At this price I couldn't refuse, most Wii games are double this.
This game was based on the second and third of the Pirates of the Caribbean films and in it you get to play as Captain Jack.
The first thing that I noticed when playing this game was the excellent graphics, the characters look so alike the characters in the film it really is amazing. The voiceovers are also very good and Captain Jack especially sounds brilliant.
The second thing that I was very impressed with was the fighting in the game. No longer are you just pressing buttons to defeat enemy's. In this game you actually use your wii remote as a sword slashing and jabbing away like a true pirate.
There are two mini games within the main game that you can play. Pirate dice and Pirate poker. Both of these are great fun to play and very addictive, I spend more time playing these then the actual game most days.
The one thing the game is lacking is the story line. As they have squashed two films into one game they seam to have lost a lot of the story line and sometimes you find yourself fighting some gang of pirates without a clue as to why your fighting them.
It also would of been nice if the game included some actual film footage to tie the two together.
In summary it is what you'd typically expect for a third person action game. Its fun to play and the fighting scenes are just amazing.
This game is some swashbuckling, sword fighting, booty grabbing fun! The graphics on this game are pretty cool. They made the notorious Jack Sparrow the best character (as well as funniest), he will even occasionally stumble around like he's had one too many. The storyline is good but they did not follow the movie very well. You start in a jail in the game as opposed to in between worlds like the movie. I am not sure if they were trying to combine all three movie stories, but they should have just stuck to one. They did not do a bad job but it would have been cooler if they would have stuck to the movie better.
You get two alternate in between Jack Sparrow, Elizabeth and Will. The character of Jack and Will are very good, but Elizabeth obviously didn't get as much time being created.
The game is very easy to play and prompts you on commands.
The graphics are overall very good
For a wii game the price was cheap, I paid $14+tax
You can use the wii as your sword, which gives you a good workout!
Using the sword and numchuck together you can unleash cool fighting moves like grabbing and kicking your opponent
Warning- too much sword wielding can make your arm very sore, so be sure to take regular breaks.
Thrown together story
You will only play this game once
I liked that it was easy but it was almost too easy! They should have spent more time making Elizabeth more realistic. Jack was a lot of fun to play. While altogether a fun game, Disney Interactive could have spent more time making the game. The music and dialogue went very good with the game and surprisingly was not annoying. I recommend this game to someone who wants an easy fun game to beat once then trade in. I see on here this game got bad reviews :( While it may not be excellent for a "serious" gamer I really enjoyed it!
Poor, poor, poor. I would not recommend buying this game at all. Its mashes up all three films so gets confusing as to which scene is which in certain missions. The graphics are incredibly weak, its like its a few years old in terms of visuals. The camera angles are awkward and clunky and you cant always see what you are emant to be doing, because you cant see. The game is a bit like a platfrom game and you have to cplete different levels to get trhough. You play as a number of characters such as Jack, Elizabeth and Will. The only good thing is the characters are all bit different and have different skills and they also have good voice overs. Howevere these voice overs get seriosuly frustrating when you keep going wrong and they keep repeating theirselves. The main objective is to sword fight and run about hitting buttons and half the time you dont know what your doing, well I didnt. Not really a good game in my opinion.
Live and die by the sword! Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is inspired by the events, environments and characters surrounding the second and third installments of the Pirates of the Caribbean.Players must demonstrate their cunning, swashbuckling creativity and swordsmanship as they encounter all manner of crazed pirates and cursed creatures in treacherous, exotic locations. Play as the eccentric Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann to prevent Jack's dark past from catching up with him. This is a good game but once you get to a part that you struggle to complete you tend to give up after a while and then go back to it later, other than that this is a great game, it has great graphics, you do need to use the wii controller and the wii nun chuck to get the full effect of the game. The price of the game now is a bargain and it is a game that i would recommend for anyone who is a pirates of the carribean fan.
This game Does a very poor job of living up to what was a pretty decent film. The gameplay is repetetive and all to easy to become bored with, action sequences don't really begin to aproach the epic spectacles I remember from the cinema and the graphics are no where near the next gen levels set by other consoles. Unfortunately for me this game like a lot of other movie game titles these days seems to be cobbled together to chuck out just before cinema launch to take advandage of advertising and make as much money without any effort on the part of the software developers.
It could have been so good, a pirate game with a wiimote and one of the most likeable characters to come at us with a sword from disney ever. One thing the game does quite a good job at is capturing some of the comedy from the film series and creating a world which at least has the same feel as the caribbean that you'll see in the cinema.
The passage of play in this game stays pretty close to the films throughout with no oppertunity of any non-linear gameplay. the first part follows events of the second film " dead mans chest " and the second part follows the third film of the series. It is essentially mission ,cutsceen, mission, cutseen, mission, actionsequence, mission, cutsceen.
The gameplay is weak and unimaginative which is a shame as there is always a lot of scope to use the wiimote especially in a sword orientated game like this and here it becomes apparant that no extra effort has been put into the wii version of this game other than up//down waves and side to side motions to perform the 3 basic light heavy and close attack options or combos made up of combinations of each. As well as the sword you can use some guns grenades and knives you find in some areas, but they do not offer much other than a differently ineffective way to kill the bad AI enemys you will encounter in small groups as you progress through the levels. Missions too are poor as objectives can seem vague at times leading to confusion frustratingly as it is such a simple game.
The graphics are dissapointing to say the least, i know the Wii is not a powerhouse like the ps3 or xbox360 and i love it none the less however i would expect something a little bit better than this. The level is no higher than ps2 and the water is particularly horrible in my opinion, where in wii sports golf it is even good. The textures in the game are average i'd say and a redeming quality could be the animation during attacks from jack sparrow but they get a bit boring after a while.
The most redeaming factor is the voicetrack for this game with apperances from all the cast which is to be expected from a film / game adaptation these days and the background music takes from the jonty themes in the films aswell.
This is a very enjoyable game for the first 10 to 15 minutes mainly because you get to play as the awesome jack sparrow in tortuga etc. as well as a few other protagonists from the film. However the fact that you find yourself doing not a lot more than buttom mashing and running around quickly deflates any good feelings from the general piracy you may have had in mind earlier. Also the fact that the game progresses in a linear fashion from a to b to c with no deviation reduces its playability to almost once through only and the back to the shop to part exchange for anything else there.
Despite most gamersÆ enduring affection for all things piratical a breakdown in the usual laws of licensing (which decrees that any movie with an explosion in it must be turned into a video game) has conspired to make this the first serious attempt to actually adapt the whole of a Pirates of the Caribbean movie. To make up for lost time this actually tackles both Dead ManÆs Chest and the new movie. In this sense the bloated narrative of the two Pirate sequels leaves just enough plot to stretch out for a single game. Although you do get to control the other characters occasionally, most of the game is spent in the heavily swaying boots of Captain Jack Sparrow. This is a shame, not because the characters play exactly the same, but because their virtual likenesses are almost scarily realistic. In fact the gameÆs graphics as a whole are extraordinarily good, showing a level of effort and attention to detail that sadly isnÆt really matched by the gameplay.
